P.1
The spaces created from the paintings need to be spaces you move through. Not just sculptural forms you look at. The shapes used must evoke the paintings and must not be too iteral. Colour will be very important within the spaces created and the colours used within the paintings chosen must be closely studied and identified perfectly. Here you can be literal, as colour is often the very essence of the painting. Also don’t be afraid to use movement or sound within your spaces. For instances if there was a Van Gogh picture to choose from then the swirls of the Van Gogh clouds could be depicted by the use of drops in water and coloured lights. At the end of your exhibition there will be a room with the paintings use in it, plus other paintings. The gallery spaces you will be creating are conceptual spaces but the building you are setting your exhibition in is to be treated as a real space and a practical space. There will be spaces for wcs, there will be a reception, a cafÊ and a shop. If you should be taking walls out and as such you will have to have some idea of structure and will be asked to detail the opening. Also the furniture and fittings you will be using will be your own designs.

Metaphorical & Physical Stairs Stairs are an integral part of interior schemes, they are either completely utilitarian as in the case of fire escape stairs or the wonderful focal point leading you to another world.
I am tasks with designing and detailing the latter of the two mentioned above. The starting point should be a piece of poetry or musical lyrics with the mention of stairs or stairways within piece. The stair is to be designed to be both a physical and virtual model. The design of the stair will also have to become a technical drawing.

Twisting The Brand
Sense Restaurant The intention of this project is to expand my conceptual thinking but also to expand my practical and professional knowledge. As such a wide range of subjects will be looked at ranging from concept modeling, through design history to materials and detailing. To add continuity from he last module this module also has an element of branding. Here is a list of famous brands Apple, Coca Cola, Facebook, Sense and Oxfam Here is a list of interior design sectors, retail, leisure and hospitality, civic & cultural and experiential. I will choose one of the sector and the brand to design. The outcomes should be interesting for example a Sense Restaurant or Facebook Retail or even an Apple Chapel.

3D Modeling
Concept modeling. In my groups we have to choose two words to do a concept model. From these words we are then tasked with creating a concept model that reflects the words. We can’t use foamboard or mount board. Use wood, metal, wire, glass, even clay, but not too much colour and no toilet rolls or pom-poms please . This model is to be a model in its own right but also we should look at the model becoming something else such as lighting, furniture, seating etc. This should be achieved through playing with scale within photoshop and contextualizing the outcomes. Model size to be no more than 300mm x 300mm x 300mm.

Final Outcome
We have to design our own pattern and then combine all the patterns in our gorup. These 3 pattern is my own design, after group discussion we decided to use metal with laser cut and playing with LED to create great shadows.

HOME
Mini Apartment As our major cities become more crowded and property prices skyrocket, affordable living spaces shrink. Already commonplace in Tokyo and Hong Kong, the mini-apartment offers occupants (almost) all of the functionality of a traditional apartment within a much smaller volume. Spaces can be designed to change/adapt/fold-away as needed, transforming to our needs. Considering all of the things we might want to do in our apartment (sleeping, bathing, dressing, cooking, eating, working, relaxing, entertaining, cleaning etc.), flexibility is key. I’m going to develop designs for a 25m2 mini-apartment in London. Dimensions: 3600 x 7200 x 3500mm (w x d x h). The apartment will be built in an existing office building that is being converted into an apartment complex. The windows and entrance will be situated on the short side of the plan. The layout has to contain a bathroom, kitchen, sleeping and living spaces.
Client
Alice
The Foodie Alice (25) is a sous chef in a busy London restaurant. She works long hours and has little time to herself during the week. She saves money by cycling to and from work. Alice’s interest in food pervades every aspect of her life. All of her plants are herbs. When not at the restaurant, she cycles to the local farmers market to buy fresh produce, and the flea market to browse for interesting and eclectic kitchen/tableware. Alice loves to feed her family and friends – her dinner parties are informal, but intimate (guests are often involved in the food preparation) – eating, drinking and talking into the early hours. Exhibition Stand
I am going to design an exhibition stand to promote a newly branded Store based on the early ethos of Biba to a new generation. I am tasked with the creation of a travelling exhibition. The size of the exhibition stand is 10m x 10m x 6m tall.. The space is to have a meeting area and storage area. It must also have a display area for whatever fashion items I choose to display. It must be branded in some way. Also I nedd to create a new logo and branding which should appear on my stand.

Surface Wallpaper Humans have been decorating surfaces for over 35,000 years – what began with cave painting is now a billiondollar industry. There are many ways to finish the surfaces of an interior – renders, paints, papers, tiles and textiles are commonly used across the world. Throughout history we have discovered ways to give these 2D planes depth. The use of paint/pattern for optical illusion, texturing of renders, embossing of papers, debossing of tiles and embroidery of fabrics was just the start. Today, the quest for unique/tactile spaces and the proliferation of digital design and manufacturing tools is pushing 3D surfaces into ‘installation’ territory. We live in an age where surfaces may also be ‘smart’, ‘active’ or ‘interactive’ – surfaces that may be functional, not merely decorative. Surfaces might enhance or disrupt lighting, acoustics, and even aromas. Context, as always, is key. I will begin by researching the history of surface decoration from cave paintings to contemporary smart surfaces. I will then create repeating patterned designs to adorn the surfaces of an interior space, first in two dimensions (as wallpaper for walls and/or ceilings) then in three dimensions (as tiles, cladding, textiles or other decorative elements). Please discuss/agree your 3D approach with a tutor). The theme for this project is shadow and silhouette. The designs must be contemporary in aesthetic, though they may reference historical styles and/or imagery. I must define a number of interior spaces in which your designs ‘fit’. They may be small, medium, large or extra large spaces. They may be domestic or commercial.
