Library Manager Position Description Role Description The Library Manager will provide support to Library staff in the efficient running and maintenance of the Rennie Library and its collection. This role requires a highly organised, self-motivated, competent individual who clearly displays excellent interpersonal skills and a strong administrative skillset. This is a permanent full-time position during Term time only. The role will commence in Week 1, Term 3 2016. Hours will be 10am – 6pm from Monday to Thursday and 8am – 4pm on Fridays. Reporting Relationship The Library Manager is ultimately responsible to the Principal in all aspects of the position and directly responsible to the Head of Library and Information Services.
Duties and Responsibilities •
Customer Service and Circulation desk duties - Promote a welcoming, safe, calm environment in the Library - Assist all students and staff with information requests - Facilitate and communicate the distribution of Library resources to staff and students - Daily operation of Circulation desk – processing all issuing and returns of items - Provide assistance to staff and students in operating the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and Library Management System (LMS) - Maintain and update student and staff records on the Library system - Book library spaces via online booking system (Bookit) - Maintain a strong library routine in the absence of the Teacher Librarian and Head of Library Services - Assist the Head of Library and Information Services to ensure that Libraries comply with WH&S standards - Liaise with the Business Office on general issues such as maintenance, cleaning, etc.

Cataloguing via the Library Management System and ICT systems including SCIS - Accurate, efficient use and maintenance of Library records - Knowledge and expertise in cataloguing via Access-It, MARC records, SCIS, AACR2 - Be responsible for uploading and cataloguing of digital programs via DVC and communicate new recordings to staff.

Collection resource development and maintenance -
Liaise with book suppliers in the ordering of resources for the collection Process new orders as they arrive against ordering documentation Process, cover and distribute resources as they arrive into the Library Shelving of fiction/non-fiction resources (books, DVDs/magazines, etc) once returned Maintenance and repair of resources as required Liaise with the Business Office for general maintenance of the Library Prepare and distribute overdue reports and notices to staff and students Maintain accurate library records via purchase orders, tax invoices and subscription renewals Maintain stationery items as required Maintain and update the Library OPAC with new resources and upcoming events Work with Teacher Librarian and Head of Library to conduct an annual Library Stocktake of all resources
Experience and Expertise • • • • •
A successful and proven record as an library technician in a school library setting Demonstrated ability to support the administration of a school library Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances in order to support a library team through change in strategic direction. Experience of Access-It Library Management System (desirable) High level of accuracy and time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines

Diploma of Library & Information Services (CUL 50111/BSB52115) Eligible for professional memberships to ALIA Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
