Queenwood Bus Information The Queenwood bus service provides safe and convenient transport of Queenwood girls to and from school. WE OFFER IN 2017 • Pick-up and drop-off at school gates – Junior and Senior School campuses • Fixed timetable and route with a chartered bus service from Forest Coach Lines • Fully air-conditioned bus fitted with seat belts • Fixed cost for travel ROUTE • Avalon to Junior and Senior School campuses – see timetable and route description HOW TO REGISTER The fee for use of the bus is $300 per term, with a 10% discount for siblings. This is for use of the bus Monday – Friday both morning and afternoon. Bookings for particular days or one-way journeys are not available. Registration and payment is via www.trybooking.com/90797 The registration is not transferable and applies to the named student only. Please note that payments are not refundable. Transport to and from school is ultimately the responsibility of parents/guardians and whilst the School provides this service to assist Queenwood families we are unable to guarantee a seat. ACCESS FOR SIBLINGS School students who are siblings of Queenwood students may register to use this bus service. First priority will be given to students enrolled at Queenwood and the School will notify parents by two weeks prior to the first day of term if insufficient seats are available to accommodate non-Queenwood siblings. In that case the registration of the non-Queenwood students may be cancelled by the School and the registration fee refunded. CONDITIONS OF USE Please refer to the ‘Queenwood Bus Policy’. QUEENWOOD BUS POLICY It is each student’s responsibility to behave in a manner that ensures the safety and comfort of passengers and drivers at all times on the Queenwood bus. Travelling on this bus is a privilege, not a right. The list of expectations below is not exhaustive and all students are expected to behave with courtesy and respect and to abide by the Queenwood Student Code of Conduct. UNIFORM All girls must wear full school uniform when waiting at bus stops and alighting from the bus, morning and afternoon. This includes hats. Please refer to the School Uniform Policy for details. RESPECT FOR PEERS Students are required to respect others on the bus by: • Keeping conversations to an appropriate volume and using appropriate language. • Ensuring that all digital media, i.e. games/music are at an appropriate age rating. They should not share games or content with younger students. • Not annoying other passengers at any time. PERSONAL SAFETY To ensure safety on the bus, all passengers are required to: • Remain seated with seatbelt fastened while the bus is travelling. • Wait until the bus has stopped prior to removing seatbelt. • Follow the driver’s instructions at all times. RESPECT FOR THE BUS Girls are required to show care and respect for the bus/driver by: • Identifying themselves to the driver when requested. • Not distracting the bus driver from driving the bus. • Reporting all vandalism/damage to the bus. • Refraining from eating or drinking on the bus. Drinking water is acceptable. CONSEQUENCES The consequences of poor conduct will be dealt with according to the School’s usual disciplinary policies and procedures. Where appropriate, permission to use the bus service may be suspended or revoked. In such circumstances the registration fee will not be refunded.
