Introduction of the Rennie Parent Library Term 2, 2016 Parenting has always been and continues to be a most challenging task. It is a complex, enriching yet often perplexing and overwhelming role. The enormous challenges brought forth by ever increasing technology and various forms of digital media further
increases pressure on parents. The Rennie Parent library is a new initiative and has been created to provide parents with a wide range of resources relating to child-rearing, social issues, nutrition, selfeducation, exploration of family dynamics including blended families, puberty, positive parenting, self-esteem, the rise of digital and social media, special needs and the varying approaches to raising boys and girls. Resources include texts written by Dr Michael Carr-Gregg, Steve Biddulph, Maggie Hamilton, Kaz Cooke and Glen A. Gerreyn. Parents are most welcome to borrow from our Parent library for a period of up to 2 weeks and this may be extended at your request. All parent borrowers are able to browse the parent library themselves so privacy of borrowing materials can be maintained. To ensure privacy all resources will be in sealed satchels and a new sealable satchel will be included for easy return to the library. Your daughter will be sent a message through Canvas to collect the sealed satchel on your behalf from the Reference desk
and the resource may be returned the same way. If there are any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me, Gabrielle Mace Head of Library & Information Services
