Design Proposal Promoting Sustainable Hand Washing using Moringa Plant. Sustainable Product-Service System concept (S.PSS) in Distributed Economy (DE).

Portfolio

Problem Addressed Urban & rural Indians don’t know how crucial hand-washing is in sustainable healthcare & sanitation. The people who do, waste water & use soaps that are toxic for the environment. How might we solve this problem focusing on tap design, hand drying methods, soap dispensing techniques, the environment & experience? In India, Ayurveda & treatment through plants is a large industry - still people are using artificial soaps. The target customers are urban & rural Maharashtrians (a state in India).

S.PSS Concept Description Moringa grows widely in rural Maharashtra. 4gm of Moringa leaf powder is proven to disinfect hands. The packaged Moringa powder can replace paper soap that Indians use widely while travelling; use 4050 ml water as opposed to avg. 2 litres & educate rural & urban Indians while using local resources & centralized production.

1

Our project involves service providers (SP) going to rural areas and partnering with the Panchayat to educate villagers on how - Moringa powder can be created - Packed with Banana leaves (also available abundantly in the area)

2

These villagers will in turn become local small-scale manufacturers of Moringa powder for the service.

3

The SP will partner with community areas heads, urban partners (UP), in cities to install and maintain hand wash units (HWU).

4

The Moringa powder will then be transported to these HWU’s (retained ownership of the SP).

5

These HWU’s will provide users with discount codes for the SP’s website which sells the Moringa powder packaged by the villagers.

6

The HWU’s, once established, will switch to a pay per use model & be transported from one I.T. park to another (resource minimization, product lifespan extension & use intensification).

Moving Images Moving Moving Images Images Moving Moving Moving Images Images Images Moving Moving Moving Images Images Images Moving Moving Moving Images Images Images 1983 Junior Sound Editor, Runner & Actor, 2017 1983 is a project involving a process we adapted from “reverse engineering. We adapted period styles of filmmaking and applied it to modern technology. The task we assigned to ourselves was to study various forms of screenwriting, cinematography and editing techniques of the 80s and to try and replicate that style using digital technology. By doing this, we could achieve knowledge of films in the 80s and the challenges then as opposed to recent times. Currently, we are digitally correcting the scenes using VFX and also adding music and sound effects. It is expected to be available by mid-2019 for pitching for screen spaces.

1001 Farebi Sights Sound Team & Art Direction Team, 2017 1001 Farebi Sights gives a sneak peek into native advertising and paid media news which is a big political scam happening in India at present times. The story is roughly based on an incident which took place in Mumbai, Maharashtra so there was quite a lot of research on this subject before the script was written. The scenes involved a lot of office spaces which were challenging for us to acquire on the campus. The direction and art team then took up staff offices in the University and rearranged things flawlessly. Most of the scenes were shot under strict deadlines successfully. The director for this short was very clear in imagining the scenes and he played a key role in preparing his actors. Currently, we are carrying out dubbing for this short and also strategic ways to sell it to Online streaming channels as it has commendable potential content-wise.
