Friendship Blooms

Show your appreciation for a fellow member of the community; it may be a friend, a family member or maybe someone you’ve come into contact with who provides a wonderful service or who works hard to make a difference. Let All Things Local surprise them with a fresh bouquet of flowers.

All Things Local has joined forces with Beverley Kennedy (pictured) from Floraline, Gregory’s Way in Belper, to offer readers the chance to show their appreciation for a fellow member of the community.

The recipient of this issue’s bouquet is Pauline Ewins of Belper. Pauline was nominated by Jessie Mayes and the team at Leaders in Belper:

“We would like to nominate ‘our lovely Pauline’, who lives near our office. We worked with Pauline briefly a few years ago and ever since she has popped into branch with treats (bless her soul). She calls in every week with cakes, bakes and sweet treats. She also gave our branch manager a beautiful drawing which he was truly touched by. When we had a power cut, she delivered homemade sandwiches as she was worried staff would go hungry and, during lockdown, she often checked on us to see if we needed anything (even if we said ‘We’re ok, thank you’ she’d still bring us some shortbread or chocolates!). The lady is a true treasure, such a kind-hearted soul and we would love to say thank you for her continued kindness throughout the years.”

All you have to do is state, in no more than 100 words, who you are nominating. Include their address and the reasons why you are nominating them. You can nominate more than one person if they are living/working at the same address… and remember – flowers don’t just have to be for women!

The only rule is that the person receiving the flowers must live or work in the distribution area of All Things Local, Belper Edition (listed on front cover). Just write your nomination on a piece of paper and send to Friendship Blooms, All Things Local, 74 Woodhouse Road, Kilburn, Belper, Derbyshire DE56 0NA or e-mail your nomination to helen@allthingslocal.co.uk putting ‘Friendship Blooms’ as the subject. Please include your full name, address and daytime telephone number on your nomination.
