“Empowering, Enlightening & Educating through the Arts”
October 13, 2007
Dear Future Millionaire:
Welcome to the fifth annual Auntie Karen’s Young Entrepreneurs Conference. In 2001, we had a dream to showcase the best young minds in our region. In the last five years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of them. I truly believe we have the next Oprah Winfrey or Russell Simmons among us today. Both visionary leaders began their career believing they could make a difference. I believe you have it in you to make a difference in your community and pursue your dreams! I created the Auntie Karen F.A.I.T. H. principles as a guide to living my dreams. My hope is that you will read and adopt these concepts to your life. (Find a purpose or goal; Ask for help; Invest in your mind; Take time to plan; Help someone else). You will see examples of these principles in action throughout the day! I would like to thank Carmen Flemming, The Auntie Karen Board and the 2007 Conference Committee for making this day possible. They spent months organizing this day especially for you!!! I hope you take away something from this conference that will encourage you to start your own business. Remember, all great things begin with an idea!
Enjoy the day! Sincerely,
Karen Alexander President and CEO

308 BOYZ
Brittbone + Yung Mee-Chee + Lil Babyboy When you hear them rap, the 308 Boyz don’t sound like 10 or 11 year-old kids. When you listen closer you recognize the playful spirit and perspective of ordinary kids. 11 year-old Brittbone, 11 year-old Yung Mee-Chee and 9 year-old Lil Babyboy are all about having fun. The 308 Boyz have an incredible opportunity to make the jump from their Columbia, SC hometown to the national stage, but they don’t want to loose their playground kick. If they’re successful, they just might add a much-needed dose of fun to HipHop itself. The 308 Boyz began when brothers Brittbone and Lil’ Babyboy started accompanying their father and producer, Barry “Flyguy” Reed, into the studio. . With hard work on writing and learning their rhymes, the Reed brothers and Mee-Chee finally proved they were ready for the studio, and in late 2006 the 308 Boyz were born.
