CONFERENCE OVERVIEW Auntie Karen’s Young Entrepreneurs Conference was created to nurture entrepreneurship in youth 7 - 22 by undertaking, creating, coordinating and acting as a catalyst for the development of entrepreneurial knowledge and enthusiasm. The thirteenth annual conference will take place from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM on October 31, 2015 at Benedict College Business Development Center in Columbia, SC. The conference is set up so that participants are able to preregister to attend a rotation of three sessions. Sessions include financial literacy, business planning and computer training. All participants are able to enjoy our motivation speaker(s). Lunch is served. Cost: $ 25.00 per student. Group rates available.

“Successville”, our business youth expo and showcase, is a free event that gives the public an opportunity to meet our young entrepreneurs , business owners and community leaders from across the region.

YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR $5,000* One young business will be honored as The Young Entrepreneur of the Year. The winner will receive the Deborah Woodard Memorial Scholarship ($ 500.00) . If sponsored the winner will also receive a business kit valued at $ 5,000. Kit includes: Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Conference for two (accommodations, transportation for two); Marketing kit (business cards, letterhead and office supplies); Partnership for one year with a business leader. PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY $2,500* During the course of the day, the Auntie Karen Foundation captures the event and occurrences through photographs and video. This footage is taped by students and local photographers. This opportunity allows us to capture the experience and provide the public with an inside view of the conference activities through the foundation’s website and conference video.
