As someone who has recently graduated and is looking to gain practical experience. I am interested in the synergy between the design as a process and its manifestation in the physical world. With an eye for detailing. I am keen on exploring different building materials and how they coalesce to encompass spaces. This portfolio is a collection of my academic as well as professional projects developed during my undergraduate studies. The work included in this portfolio highlights my approach and ideology that evolved with the education and travel experiences.

01 A MUSEOLOGICAL EXPERIENCE A MUSEOLOGICAL EXPERIENCE CENTER REVIVING ISLAMIC HISTORY AND CULTURE, AHMEDABAD (ARCHITECTURAL THESIS)

The project is based on providing a museological experience that sheds a light upon Islamic history, culture and its significant contribution to India. This centre/museum will attempt to change viewers bad perception of the Islam by making the public cognizant of this vast culture through mediums of education and entertainment. India has been influenced majorly by the Islamic world in its early stages and has cultural exchanges with Iran along the course of history. The project seeks to function as an institution, thus the program includes a Museum, Library and an Auditorium.

6

The proposal is in the city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, towards the the inner walled city - due to its historic relevance and signifance to Islam and because it is a multicultural metropolitan region that is well known for its integration of many types of people and socio-cultural ideas.. Althought the subject of the museum is confined to be of islamic importance, an architectural language is sought that is devoid of labels, styles and categories.

7

The view depicts the users journey through the landscaped plaza towards to the dom reational space for resting etc. A visual axis is created by th 8

med structure. The arched pavillion acts as a dynamic spot and can be used as a reche reflecting pool as it envelopes around the main building. 9

The site form is linear in shape.

A central axis is achieved to create a focal and visual axis towards to circular form.

The waterbody and landscaped plaza envelope around the curves of the built form coherently.

The design establishes a continuous and fluid relationship between its surrounding plaza and the waterbody.

The plaza, as the ground surface, rises to envelop an equally public interior space. E architectural landscape that performs a multitude of functions: welcoming 14

Elaborate formations such as bifurcations and folds modify this plaza surface into an g, embracing, and directing visitors through different levels of the interior. 15

The atrium also provides a dynamic space for the flow of people from one area of the building to another and provides thrilling views across the grounds, as well as creating a inspirational environment. Light and water play an important role in Islamic architecture. In hot Islamic climates, the water from courtyard pools and fountains cool as it decorates. Water can not only reflect architecture and multiply the decorative themes, it can also serve as a means of emphasizing the visual axes. Light can add a dynamic quality to architecture, extending patterns, forms and designs.
