Amphitheatre redesign
+ multifunctional building
In one of the Cracow’s Plattenbau estates an abandoned amphitheater is located. Earlier it was a place for cultural events, currently place for walking and having rest. How to make this place more attractive for its residents? How to attract people there? What kind of changes, the inhabitants would like to see at this place? What would be the future of this venue? These questions brought the idea of multifunctional building that wouldgive this place a new life. 7th diploma project 2013 Cracow

RESTAURANT TERRACE PUBLIC
CLIMBING WALL
As we can see in the schema, the main idea was to combine and simultaneously separate additional functions with the spectacular function. So, a symbolic wall was designed. On the left side there would be a small shop and restaurant. Whereas, on the right, the stage and backstage with public toilets. The wall has a symbolic meaning, as it creates two zones. It separates but on the other hand acts as a link between the two zones. The functions complement each other, and thus make one harmonic structure. The presence of schools in the close vicinity lead to an impulse to create a place for kids too. Under the restaurant there would a climbing wall and a wall for painting. All these would be publicly accesible, so that every kid can go there and play. Amphitheatre can accomodate around 1000 people. It would be a place for small concerts or theatre plays. Also it would provide a spot for performances and shows for pupils of the surrounding schools. There would also be the possibility to project movies, so that open air cinema might be organised during summers. We see that a place like this can be used in many different ways. The ampitheatre would also have a two-sotreyed backstage building with cloakrooms, greenrooms and toilets. On the other side there would be a small shop and a restaurant with a large terrace. People visiting the place can enjoy the view form both sides. One from the restaurant itself because of the glass facades and second from the terrace. All of these functions are located in cubes which are attached to the main wall.

InFILL the City
Residential urban infill
Designing in the old part of the town expects adapting to the ambient surronding from the architects. This is not always an easy task. The idea is to somehow match the environment in order to respect the existing, often historic buildings. The project’s is location is in the heart of the Cracow’s Kazimierz district. Kazimierz is a historical Jewish district - one of the major tourist attractions of Cracow and important center of cultural life in the city. 5th 2012 Cracow Ewelina Rantamaula Jaskółka

projected building. According to the surroundings the infill has stair shape, thus, making the whole street facade coherent. Between the two buildings, common space for residents with water, green spaces and elements of small architecture, are located. Underground parking contains parking places for all of the residents and has ramp entrance from Jakuba street.

The proposition consists of two twin town houses between Jakuba and Kupa streets. Elevations of the neighbouring builgings show how different appearance these two streets have. On Jakuba street there are old historial infills while Kupa street is distinct by modern architecture. Big challenge was to create something which could connect two different faces of one plot. To match neighbouring buildings and to not disturb existing order. Differences in the heights of the buildings in Jakuba street had its impacts on the shape of the

Elevations are enclosed with bamboo louvers mounted on folding frames, that would provide protection from the sun and also possibility of a differentiated appearance of the units so that inhabitants would have the opportunity to acquire some form of personal identification with their residences.

Art in the City
Cracow’s Culture House
How to combine the vicinity of the old Cracow Monument Castle architecture with the modern building? The answear lies in its shape, giving some historical elemens or simply in the materials used. This is what has been done in this project. Shape is as simple as possible, it doesnt stand out, but meterials give this building excellent appearance. That is why it fits and does not disturb its suorounding.

The building is situated next to the „Wawel” castle walls, near by Vistula river, not so far from the old city centre. Increadibly important location makes this place perfect for functioning as a City Art House. Project is aimed for two groups of audience. First - tourists, who are present everywhere in Cracow, and second - residents, who are never a disdain art. Five storey space contains three big exhibition rooms, auditorium, restaurant and part for administration and offices. Due to the proximity of the castle and old townhouses, the facade of the building is covered with COR-TEN steal panels. Additionaly pierced in the shape of bricks - very characteristic for Cracow

Painter Studio&Gallery
In the heart of the Cracow is located modernist building, really beautiful and ellegant in shape. It is built in the neo gothic style. The challenge for the designers is to protect the facade as a historic monument. The project deals with the complete renovation of existing building along with both of the facades and to create new function inside.

are connected by glass bridges and elevator. Plan was to open this whole space and make it very clear. Above the gallery, under the glass overlap, a workshop would be located and also a flat for the artists. To connect outside with inside space top floor is made up with glass and rollers, which makes it more flexible.

Cracow is one of the cultural centres in Europe. That is why it has attracted artists from all over the world for centuries. History of the city, architecture and the monuments are sources of inspiration for artisctic creations. In the old urban region of the city we can find many interesting buildings. One of them is old transformer station located in Radziwillowska street. Building was created in 1896, desiged by Jan Rzymkowski as modernist architecture. In the previous years the building was has been used as a magazin for local theater. Having in mind the above points, I was trying to answer the following questions: How to renovate this place? What can be created in this beautiful building? Idea was to design small gallery with workshop and small flat. The project was to develop a place that would offer to the artists, everything of their need, at one place. After cleaned old wooden construction inside I have designed new one with glass and concrete. Glass poles shoulder the ramp which is going through the largest part of the building. In the middle there are two small exhibition cubes, hidden with rolllers. That makes this space more flexible. They can be used as a multimedia rooms. Cubes

DRIVE in LOVE. car-dating

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Was ist car dating?
MOBILE DATING SPEED DATING CAR DATING
