In early 2014, the Christchurch Girls’ High School publicity committee was created. This is a committee that contains a collection of students from years 12 and 13 that are interested in journalism, photography, design, English, painting and various other subjects. This group’s first project for the year has been to create the CGHS newspaper, that was carried out in previous years by a group of students in the academic committee. After many meetings, we decided that we wanted to create a slightly new approach on the newspaper and turn it into a more modern magazine that would appeal to students, teachers, friends and family of the school.

Over the last term, various groups of year 12 and 13 students have been working individually and in groups to generate ideas and then carry out these to create articles, art and photographs for the magazine which I have then collated into this booklet. Overall, I’m really pleased with all the hard work everyone has put into creating this. We really hope that you enjoy this magazine and we all look forward to future projects that we will be able to share with you all! All the best for term two!
