GUIDE TO

SAN ANTONIO

LOCATIONS

#1

PEARL BREWERY

This is one of my favorite locations to shoot because it has EVEYTHING-- lots of colors and textures, access to the Riverwalk, fun murals, cool staircases, and plenty of areas to explore. Every location is within walking distance from the last one and there’s free parking.

#2

OLD HELOTES

This is my favorite natural location to shoot. Although it feels like you’re out in the country, the place is just a five-minute drive outside of Loop 1604 and Bandera. We’ll have lots of rustic elements to incorporate and plenty of privacy.

#3

ON BROADWAY

We’ll need to carpool for this one, because shooting locations on Broadway can be a little bit spread out. That’s part of the adventure! This old street has lots of character and color. Bonus: we’ll be right next to a mini theme park, which makes for cute photos for both kids and adults.

#4

JAPANESE

TEA GARDEN

This old San Antonio gem dates back to 1899 and features amazing landscaping and majestic stone staircases. Since it’s free to shoot here, the location draws tons of other San Antonio photographers, but if your session is in the morning, we’ll have the place to ourselves. It’s also a five-minute drive away from the Broadway locations, so we can incorporate both if there’s time.

#5

HISTORIC MISSIONS

Like the Japanese Tea Gardens, this place is better visited in the morning. There are so many fun corridors and rooms to explore, and the neutral color of the walls is great for portraits.

#6

TRAINS

& LOADING DOCK

An awesome location, although it’s in a little bit of a sketchy neighborhood. If you choose this spot, make sure you bring other people with us. Don’t let that scare you away though-I’ve never run into any problems here!

#7

BLUE STAR

Because the Blue Star Arts Complex is home to artists, it’s decorated with style! We’ll have tons of color and texture to work with. This spot is also right next to the Riverwalk and more train tracks, so we can get lots of different shots.

#8 (SEASONAL) WILDFLOWERS

If you’re lucky enough to have your photos taken during wildflower season, let’s use them to our advantage! I know of a few beautiful fields that we can explore. They’re usually best around March.

#9SHOOT

DRIVE ‘N

This is one of my favorite ways to shoot-- pick a neighborhood, hop in a car, and hop out whenever I see something! This style of shooting is really spontaneous and it will keep you on your toes. It’s easiest for solo or couple shoots.

#10

HOME SESSION

Home sessions are incredibly meaningful and super easy for you-- you don’t have to go anywhere or even put on shoes for that matter! Your home does NOT have to be clean at all. We’ll rearrange things as we go and find the best spots in your house for photos.
