Campus facilities

Campus Stamford has boosted the standards of international education in Singapore with the opening of its new $300 million purpose-designed campus. The campus features state-of-the-art technology and facilities that establish it as the new benchmark for international schools around the world. The campus design has been led by an ambition to achieve an educational environment that provides the greatest opportunity for student learning and also one that allows for future developments and growth in education. The facilities were designed to create the most advanced learning environment, featuring top notch academic and athletic resources including cluster-style classrooms, specialist learning environments, swimming pools, sports fields, a climbing wall, as well as safe and convenient underground parking. There are dedicated spaces for art, theater, dance and music, including areas for exhibiting fine arts and hosting performances. Unique highlights of the campus include the Learning Resource & Media Center which houses e-book collections, an Apple computer center and Singapore’s first iLEarn interactive

learning environment. The iLEarn creates great opportunities for interdisciplinary instruction and video conferencing with guest lecturers from around the world. For example, students learning about Ancient Egypt can learn from someone actually at the Great Pyramid! The Science Center showcases teaching laboratories, break out spaces for students to work with their 1-to-1 MacBook Pros, and special presentation areas for sharing findings. Centrally located at 279 Upper Serangoon Road, the purposebuilt facility can accommodate approximately 2,500 students from Nursery through Secondary School. Stamford’s campus is directly next to the Woodleigh MRT and is a short drive from all the major expatriate residential areas.


Lincoln Building The Lincoln Building highlights Stamford’s early years facilities. There is a secure enclosed playground attached to the Nursery, a special Pre-Kindergarten to Kindergarten 2 enclosed playground and classrooms tailored for our Nursery through Kindergarten 2 students. The Lincoln Building also houses the impressive Learning Resource & Media Center, including one of the two iLEarn interactive learning environments featured on campus.

Nursery Facilities The Nursery facilities are specially designed with a secure enclosed playground attached to roomy classrooms. Students are free to move from indoor learning centers to outdoor play areas at their own pace of exploration, facilitated by the 5-to-1 student-to-teacher ratios. Additionally, in-class appropriately-sized bathroom facilities assist teachers in facilitating the toilet-training process.

Early Years Facilities Classrooms are designed especially for Pre-Kindergarten through Kindergarten 2 students and are complemented by a safe, secure and age-appropriate enclosed playground perfect for snack and recess breaks. The Pre-Kindergarten through Kindergarten 2 playground features a plethora of play facilities including a sand pit, monkey bars, tricycles and tunnels.

21st Century Learning Resource & Media Center (LRMC) Up-to-date with the latest traditional as well as technological resources, the LRMC allows students to check out e-books to read on their personal iPads, have story time with the whole class or engage in personal research or silent reading. The LRMC also includes a full iMac computer for special projects and extra computing power beyond the 1-to-1 student iPads and MacBook Pros.

Elementary School Cognita iLEarnTM 1 Singapore’s first interactive learning environment provides video access to experts from anywhere in the world and allows for international discussion and debate.


Campus facilities

Washington Building & Plaza The Washington Building is the core of the Elementary School adjoining the Lincoln Building and the Jefferson Building around the play area called Washington Plaza, the central courtyard of the Elementary School. Washington Plaza is where students line up to meet their teachers in the morning so they can walk to class together and begin the school day. It is also the central play area for recess and a common meeting point for student pick up after school.

Kindergarten 2 through Grade 3 Elementary School Classrooms Every spacious classroom is equipped an interactive Promethean board giving students the most up-to-date technology at their fingertips.

Indoor and Outdoor Meeting Spaces Student breakout areas can be found throughout campus and are the perfect venue for collaborative student work or quiet contemplation and study. Students use these spaces as an extension of the classroom for class projects or during recess or free-time.

Elementary Playgrounds With monkey bars, bikes, tunnels, a zipline and even an outdoor, recreational basketball court, the Elementary Playgrounds are perfect for recess period recreation.

World-Class Sporting Facilities Two swimming pools, one 25 meters with 8 lanes, perfect for our competitive swim team, an outdoor field for

American Football, track and soccer, plus a climbing wall and Washington Plaza provide ample space for students to recreate during recess and train for competition.

Student Café The Student Café serves restaurant quality, healthy, energyrich food created by Singapore’s Celebrity Chef, Emmanuel Stroobant. Everyday, freshly made lunch options include a choice from nutritionally balanced Western, Asian and Vegetarian meals, including starter, main and dessert, sure to excite and expand the palate.

Café Stamford Café Stamford was designed specifically for our parent community to have a place to meet, socialize and relax on campus. Café Stamford, also run by Chef Emmanuel Stroobant, offers snacks, drinks and meals for parents to enjoy. There is a fully equipped bakery onsite so that croissants and other delights can be baked fresh daily in addition to the array of soups, salads, sandwiches and pasta dishes. .


Jefferson Building The Jefferson Building highlights Visual Arts, Music, Dance and Physical Education specialist classroom space and also includes upper Elementary School classrooms.

Grade 3 through Grade 4 Elementary School Classrooms Every spacious classroom is equipped with an interactive Promethean board giving students the most up-to-date technology at their fingertips.

Music Facilities Comprehensive Music facilities include sound-proofed music rooms and a high-tech keyboard laboratory complete with iMac computers. There are also sound-proofed practice rooms designed for private vocal and instrumental lessons through the Peripatetic Music Program.

Visual Arts Facilities Comprehensive Visual Arts facilities include art classrooms and ceramics rooms as well as a special gallery area for exhibiting student works.

Dance Facilities Dedicated Dance Studios complete with wood flooring, mirrored walls and dance bars are the perfect setting for Dance, one of units of the Physical Education Program for all students.

Jefferson Arena A fully equipped and air-conditioned indoor gymnasium houses 2 full size basketball courts, gymnastics equipment, an automated scoreboard and a state-of-the-art audio system ideal for both Physical Education classes and sports competition.

Superintendent’s Office In keeping with Stamford’s Open Door Policy, the Superintendent and other school leadership offices are centrally located on campus and easily accessible. Parents are welcomed to schedule time to meet with school leadership for open discussion.

Franklin Building The Franklin Building is home to the upper Elementary School and Secondary School classrooms for students from Grade 4 through Grade 10. The Franklin Building features facilities tailored for older students including the Science Wing, special Electives classrooms, enhanced Visual Arts, Music and Drama classrooms, a second iLEarn interactive learning environment and a Senior Study Lounge.

Comprehensive Drama facilities include a black-box classroom space tailored with blackout curtains, special lighting and soundproofed walls so that students can get fully “into character”.

State-of-the-Art Science Wing

Textiles & Robotics Laboratories

Designed to mimic the scientific method, the Science Wing is complete with teaching laboratories and special presentation areas for sharing findings. The Science Wing is fully equipped for handson instruction, including performing chemical experiments.

Specialized space for Stamford’s Secondary School Electives Program features a Textiles Laboratory and Robotics Laboratory.

Music Facilities Comprehensive Music facilities include sound-proofed vocal and instrumental music rooms. There are also sound-proofed practice rooms designed for private vocal and instrumental lessons through the Peripatetic Music Program.
