My love for crafting at Christmas started in childhood when my Mom would gather us together at the kitchen table to make garlands of colored construction paper and popcorn to string up on the tree. The traditions continue at our kitchen table with my own children where they join me in making marshmallow snowmen and wrapping presents for their cousins, always with a Christmas movie playing in the background. I’ve dreamed of designing a collection of holiday fabrics and gift wraps to craft and play with during the holiday season, and this year I did it! Red is the color of Christmas and it’s fresh and fun when combined with beautiful aqua blue! A tablecloth sewn with 4 yards of Ribbons Berry + Aqua cotton fabric sets the festive scene. 4

How do you embellish gifts ? My favorites include twill, satin, and burlap ribbons, plus a sprig of evergreen or berries, and a candy cane is always welcome !

As the song goes, it’s the best time of the year! I love to fill my home with the scents of the season - cedar garland swagged up the staircase and a pitcher of holly bring Christmas cheer to the entry. A dash of red completes the traditional holiday palette. Each lined stocking was created with a single fat quarter of linen/cotton canvas blend. The template and full tutorial will be published in November on the blog. These are the most simple stockings to sew, and offer a place to store surprise gifts for loved ones.
