1. Using the Warm Winter Mug Pieces, die cut the following with double-sided adhesive sheets: polka dot mug overlay, mug, candy cane stripe overlay, and chocolate topping. Using the Warm Winter Mug Pieces and Stitched Fishtail Banner, die cut the following pieces with soft finish cardstock: mug, cream topping, banner, holly leaves, and berries. Use red cardstock to die cut the candy cane backing.

2. Remove the front release sheet from the mug overlay, and apply red glitter to adhesive. Take your adhesive mug, trim off the release sheet from the handle, and apply red glitter to the handle. Use your fingers to gently rub the glitter into the tape to make it shiny.

3. Remove the release sheet from the cup portion of your mug, and apply the overlay firmly to the mug. Add white glitter to the polka dot cutouts, and use your brush to remove any excess glitter.

4. Take your cream topping cut out and watercolour palette and carefully add a thin layer of brown paint, following the embossing line to add subtle dimension to the cream.

Remove the release sheet from the candy cane stripe overlay, and apply firmly to the red backing. Apply VersaMark to your candy cane and the chocolate topping. Sprinkle a layer of clear embossing powder over your candy cane, and a layer of brown embossing powder to the chocolate topping to add texture. Use a heat tool on both to dry. 5. Use your green Distress Ink to colour the holly leaves, and the red Copic marker to colour the berries. Apply a layer of Gelly Roll Clear Glaze to the berries for shine.

6. With your final soft finish mug cutout, clip off the handle and top rim of the mug. Make a horizontal score line ¾″ from the top, and fold gently. Apply wet glue to the space above the score line, and adhere to the back of your finished glitter mug so it stands. Add your sentiment to the stitched fishtail banner. Assemble your mug as shown.

Optional: Add sentiment or Christmas wishes to the inner fold of the card.

To Tear or Not to Tear

Paper tearing is a simple technique that adds a huge impact to paper projects. With a touch of whimsy, a torn edge playfully builds support for the subject of the photo. Layers of torn edges mimic the natural textures of a landscape. Peek-a-boo holes torn into a background add tons of visual interest and a little bit of mystery! This gallery will inspire you to use torn paper in your next project!
