Department Store Trends December 3, 2012 Entry #5 I chose the store Macy’s and a trend that I found to be consistent was fur. I saw it in both the juniors, women’s, shoes and coats department. Another trend I saw was knit sweaters, because it is winter people wear a lot of knits for warmth. That material was seen in women’s, juniors, men’s and children’s department. A silhouette that I noticed has been everywhere is Aline dresses. I saw it in the women’s, juniors, and children’s department. Actually I have seen that silhouette slowly becoming popular and I like it. Red was a consistent color shown throughout the store. When I think of Christmas, the color red automatically comes to mind. Red shoes, red dresses, red sweaters, and even red pots and pans. A classic trend that I saw throughout the store was long, double breasted coats. Men, juniors and women love this type of coats and it comes in all different colors and prints. The most dominating color would have to be black.
