Feed me, care for me, and when the dayâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s work is done, provide me with shelter, a clean dry bed and a stall wide enough for me to lie down in comfort. Talk to me. Your voice often means as much as the reins. See that I have plenty of water; I need lots of it, especially during the hot summer days and, in the winter, see that I have a warm blanket. Pet me sometimes, that I may learn to love you and that I may serve you more gladly. Do not jerk the reins and do not whip me. Never strike, beat or kick me when I do not know what you want, but give me a chance to understand you. Watch me and if I fail to do your bidding, or am uneasy, nervous, or irritable, see if something is wrong with my bridle or saddle or my feet, etc. When I go lame, I may have corns, a stone or a nail in my foot. If necessary, take me to a good blacksmith. Examine my teeth when I do not eat. I may have an ulcerated tooth and that, you know, is very painful. If I am not doing well, give me something for worms, for they may be taking my strength. Do not tie my head in an uncomfortable position or take away my best defense against flies and mosquitoes by cutting off my tail. Brush and curry me at least once a day, so my hair will shine and be nice and glossy. I want you to be proud of me when you show me to your friends. And finally, O my Master, when my youthful strength is gone, do not turn me out to starve or freeze. Keep me not out in the rain all night or sell me to some cruel owner to be slowly tortured and starved to death, but do thou, O my Master, take my life in the kindest way and your God will reward you here and hereafter. You will not consider me irreverent, if I ask this in the name of Him, who was born in a stable. AMEN

Notice: Buyers claiming to be tax exempt will be required to fill out and sign a Form 13. All others will be charged 5 1/2% sales tax.

We urge buyers to examine the horses that interest them prior to the sale. All horses are required to be on the premises the night before the sale. To the best of our knowledge, horses are free of disease or defect, unless called at sale time. Terms of the sale are cash; NO EXCEPTIONS. Drivers license is required for checks. Letter of credit may be requested. The sale personnel may withhold registration papers until the check clears the bank. If any buyer wishes to obtain the registration papers immediately, the horse must be paid for in the currency or certified check. Any buyer who stops payment on a check will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Except as set forth in the last paragraph to soundness, any dispute which arises between buyer and owner on the matter of soundness, condition, printed information, or statements made from the auction block shall be restricted between the buyer and owner. The highest bidder is to be the buyer. If any dispute arises between two or more bidders, sole authority to settle the dispute as he deems fit is reserved by the auctioneer. His decision is final. THE WEBERS I guess you could say horses have always been my passionâ&#x20AC;Ś maybe weakness or disease is a better description. They have kept me sane for the most part, but that price does not come without some measure of heartache along the way. We affectionately call this kind soul BIG RED. This is another perfect cross for us. This gelding’s dam, by our late stallion HANDY BLUE TIGER, was well on her way to becoming a top calf horse when she was attacked by a mountain lion, and too much shoulder muscle was compromised, so she was an excellent candidate for our broodmare program. She has produced several sweet natured babies for us. BIG RED is tall, has a unique cherry red sorrel coat, and very gentle. He really wants to stop. He has been in the branding pen also.

He’s as broke as they come, and nice to be around. He was a 1D/2D barrel horse before we got him, and will run a nice pole pattern. Since we’ve owned him he’s been mainly a head horse and has done everything there is to do on the ranch. Just a real sweet horse that’s a go-to gelding.

ROVER GONEZ FEATHERS is one of our young riding mares that really stands out here. Not only is she beautiful with her golden palomino color and flaxen mane, but she has a good conformation, and sweet personality. It really doesn’t hurt that she is a granddaughter to FRENCHMANS GUY either. DASH FOR CASH on the bottom side only cements the foundation for speed events. She is a nice sized taller mare that is bred to compete in about any rodeo event or arena competition. She has been used on the ranch, at brandings, at the salebarn, will sidepass to a gate, and she has a real nice handle. MY LIL SUE We bought this double bred FRENCHMANS GUY filly as a weanling from Lee Lopez in northern South Dakota. She has had 60 days with Steve Sward (ph: 308-760-4708) and he took the time to put a good start on her with a lot of ground work and then riding. Steve even rode her in the North Platte parade this year! He says she is alert, athletic, friendly, and very willing. She has energy to get the job done, but not goofy or hyper. She has all the makings to be an excellent barrel horse prospect. She will have more rides on her by sale day by Lane Kennedy.

This gorgeous black filly is by CATSANOVA COWBOY and out of one of our best NIOBRARA ROCKET daughters. This cross has always been magic. This filly is smart, gentle, and in the training pen, she is already starting to cross over. She was started by Levi Grimes, and ridden by Lane Kennedy this summer on the ranch and at the salebarn. She’ll mature nicely and no doubt will grow up and make an outstanding performance horse, and don’t pass up the fact that the “Rocket” offspring possess excellent broodmare qualities. Her dam KLASSIC HAZEL is one of our top mares and has been with us for a lot of years and my plans were to keep this filly as a replacement mare. I forgot that Hazel usually foals a couple weeks early, and last year on Easter morning I found this real new baby. Unfortunately, the tips of her ears were frozen off that Sunday morning, but it’s hard to tell it. She is shapey, long legged, and gentle. Joker is 15.1 hands tall and is stout made. He has been used on all aspects of the ranch and is the one you pick when you need to get the job done. I’ve hauled him the last two summers to the women’s ranch rodeos as well as open rodeos. He’s headed and heeled steers and will be started in the breakaway this summer.
