This is a book I designed and made for my Digital Page & Web class. The assignment for this project was to fixate on a single object, exploring as many of its facets as possible, including its physical, metaphorical, and emotional elements. The visuals, including typographic choices, color, and motifs, were to revolve around the examination of the object. My object was a Smorkin' Labbit, which is a line of toys designed by Frank Kozik through Kidrobot. Using a film noir-inspired narrative, I explored this object by creating its back story, which includes love, betrayal, and murder, ending with a promise of revenge, including Hello Kitty and MunnyWorld as characters. Using InDesign, I added text and assembled the images into a book. I used Photoshop to edit, combined, and create the images and textures used for each spread.
