As a graphic designer, I am driven and passionate about the work I do. I enjoy the adventure of visually communicating the idea behind every design. Similar to a sailor exploring the sea, I take each project as a new challenge to explore concepts that I have never tried before. I am always eager to learn and I am excited about the journey I will undergo throughout my career. Just as a boat carries people to new places and new experiences, I allow people to experience new ideas through each of my designs.

a photographic exhibition about the Architecture in Connecticut. The exhibition would be held in one of the galleries at the museum to celebrate architectural diversity in Connecticut. This project required a booklet design, featuring images of famous architecture Connecticut, for distribution at the gallery opening.

COLOR PALETTE PROJECT SOLUTION Many college campuses have unique architecture which have become staples to the surrounding area. For this project I decided to showcase the remarkable architecture of Wesleyan University located in Middletown, Connecticut. I visited the campus to photograph each building and it’s distinctive architectural characteristics. I chose Wesleyan since it was one of the first colleges established in Connecticut and it helped to shape the history of the state. The booklet layout is simple and clean to focus on the large, detailed images of the building design.

Project: Wildthings

Wildthings DATE 2012

PROJECT DETAILS This project focused on the identity and branding of a retail chain store, called Wildthings, specializing in

natural products for the home. Our task was to design a logo for the company as well as their stationary set which includes letterheads and envelopes, business cards, and billing and shipping invoices. We also designed the packaging for the furniture store which consists of shopping bags and tissue paper. PROJECT SOLUTION Wildthings was looking for a new logo that needed to be simple and reflect the natural contemporary style of their company. I designed a logo crest which focuses on a flamingo drinking water in its natural habitat. This reflects the natural, relaxed feeling of being inside a home with products from the brand. By using repetition, geometric shapes, and a neutral color palette, I created the logo and the rest of the packaging materials to successfully reflect the values of Wildthings.

Project: Designer Magazine

Designer Magazine DATE 2012

PROJECT DETAILS The objective of this project was to design a six page magazine spread discussing a famous type designer

CATEGORY Magazine layout SOFTWARE USED Illustrator InDesign Photoshop COLOR PALETTE

and to include a timeline of the designer’s life. These type designers and their inspirations were instrumental to the development of graphic design and each had a huge influence on typography. The magazine needed to best represent their style within our design while emphasizing typography. PROJECT SOLUTION I researched and wrote the article used in this spread about Morris Fuller Benton, a famous typeface designer born in 1872. On the first page of the spread, I created a typographic image to introduce the article in the magazine. I used the letters from the typefaces, Broadway and Franklin Gothic, which were designed by Benton, to create the portrait of the man himself. The timeline of Benton’s life spans across the last spread. The top of the timeline shows the most important moments in the history of Benton’s life, where as the bottom of the timeline shows important world events and the dates in which Benton’s most famous typefaces were created.

two clothing tags which would be used on products in their store. PROJECT SOLUTION When designing the logo for Basics Inc. I kept in mind the traits of the target market. These males and females of high school and college age value technology, top fashion, being popular, and the urban lifestyle. I used this research to design a clean, modern logo and the clothing tags to appeal to the technology obsessed target market. The contrasting colors of orange and blue differentiate the female and male tags to make it easier for shoppers in the store to find what they are looking for.

or discuss the chosen topic. PROJECT SOLUTION I designed an informational booklet about the Jones Family Farms located in Shelton, Connecticut. The book explores the history and services of the family owned

farm. It describes what they do, upcoming events, and information to contact or visit the farm. The book would be used as a mailer to promote the business as well as handed out to customers who visit any of their three locations. I designed a simple layout to showcase the images from the farm locations. I took a trip to experience the farm myself and took each of the photographs used in the booklet. The color palette remains traditional and natural to reflect the history and values of the Jones Family Farms.

Project: Connecticut Lyric Opera

Connecticut Lyric Opera DATE 2012

PROJECT DETAILS The objective of this project was to design a typographic poster for the Connecticut Lyric Opera

CATEGORY Poster Design SOFTWARE USED Illustrator

featuring the classic opera, Carmen. The poster targets young professionals, who are aging between twentythree and thirty-seven. The goal of the poster is to attract people who enjoy a night out with friends, but may not normally decide to go to an opera. Our design

COLOR PALETTE

to promote the opera should attract this target and persuade them into attending the event. PROJECT SOLUTION I decided to base my poster off the places where the operas took place. In Carmen, an important scene in the opera takes place inside a bull fighting ring. I created a simplified scene for the poster design and used the shape of a bull to typographically spell the title of the opera. The background of the poster is red to reflect the energy, danger, strength, power, and blood which is communicated through the opera.

Project: Rainforest Roast

Rainforest Roast DATE 2013

PROJECT DETAILS The first task of this project was to create a unique identity for a coffee brand who sells specialty coffee flavors from

CATEGORY Branding and Identity Packaging Website Design SOFTWARE USED Dreamweaver Illustrator Maya Photoshop COLOR PALETTE

around the world. In addition to the brand’s logo design, we created the packaging for three exclusive coffee blends that reflect the image of the company. The final step was to create the brand’s website which would explain the company’s mission and offers a online shop for customers to buy the products. PROJECT SOLUTION Most of the coffee in the world comes from Brazil which is home to the Amazon Rainforest. Organic coffee is grown under the canopies of the rainforest and so the I targeted people who enjoy natural and organic products and are also interested in saving wildlife. With this idea, I developed Rainforest Roast, an organic coffee brand from the Amazon. The logo and packaging was created to reflect the culture and landscape of Brazil and the Amazon. The color palette is bright to exhibit the vivid, neon colors shown through the wildlife living in the Rainforest. I used Maya to create 3D images of what the package would look like if they were prodcued. The brand’s website reflects the style of the brand and includes an online store, coffee club, and information about Rainforest Roast and its rare coffee products.

for an identity as well as a print designs to market their cause on campus. The Campus of Compassion is an organization on campus to promote making CCSU a University of Compassion and strives to weave acts of compassion into university life. us to create their logo as well as a brochure to help promote the organization and get students and faulty to join the cause. PROJECT SOLUTION The logo I designed uses the word compassion to form a path or road. This path represents the journey CCSU is taking to become a University of Compassion. It also symbolizes the path to enlightenment discussed in the original Charter of Compassion and continues to influence the organization. As part of Central Design’s team we decided to design the logo and brochure using warm colors to represent the feeling of compassion. Together we designed the informational brochure that along with the logo will be distributed around Central Connecticut State University’s campus.

The clean layout and color scheme attracts people who are interesting in learning about the topic. The infographic displays ten ways the everyday person to reduce their carbon footprint in an amusing, easy to read document .

personal style. The objective of this project was to create an advertising brochure that would be placed inside popular magazines. The booklet needed promote their line of clothing without advertising specific images of the physical clothes. PROJECT SOLUTION The logo crest I designed for Open Season reflects their sophisticated and classic identity which targets men and women. To reflect the rest of the brand throughout the booklet I chose a quote which listed things to do during everyday life for a better life. It describes activities that customers can do while wearing the clothes from the brand and is an inspirational read for the customer. The sepia tone of the book makes the message stand out against the background so the customer can focus on what the brand is trying to say.
