Sally: My vision, when establishing Lavish Interiors/Staging Furniture, was to create a business offering design services as multi-faceted as are the stages of life. Sometimes life gets unexpectedly complex. A son or daughter may need to move back home with Mom or Dad due to limited job opportunities or to a recent divorce. Ellen: Brett, many high net worth individuals in the luxury market are looking for privacy and discretion when buying or selling their luxury homes. A “pocket listing” is a property that is not advertised on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) and in most cases receives limited marketing by word-of-mouth to a tight circle of local realtors and brokers who may have qualified buyers. Brett: Why would a Buyer or Seller not want their property listed traditionally on MLS? Ellen: Most savvy Buyers of high end properties want a “first look” at properties prior to them hitting MLS so they are the first to know about and have the opportunity to make the first offer. Many high net worth Sellers are professional athletes, politicians, owners of major companies etc. and want the privacy, discretion and security of not making it public knowledge they are selling their home, much less where they live. Properly marketing a property “Off Market” through Private Broker Opens, telemarketing, direct mail, print advertising, online marketing (just the property and community, not the address) allows Sellers the opportunity to collect feedback from other realtors, brokers and buyers about the property without collecting days on market or price erosion associated with MLS. Denise: While many in America are hanging up their aprons for the winter, here in Phoenix, we are just warming up to barbecue season. Randy, as Founder and President/CEO of Caliber Range Corporation, you are now an icon in the barbecue industry. How did someone with an engineering degree, who is a talented metal art designer and sculptor, get involved with designing barbecue grills?
Randy: I co-founded Caliber in 2012 with Dan Nichols, an award-winning industrial designer, in Huntington Beach, California.
Randy: After college, my first job was working for a commercial cooking company where I purchased burners from the company and built my first “commercial grade” gas grill in my garage for my own use. I co-founded Dynamic Cooking Systems in 1987 and my Partners and I went on to introduce the first professional grill and pioneer the high-end outdoor grilling category.

New TV Show Concept “Selling Scottsdale” Co Stars Hopeful of Show Being Picked by National Networks By Denise Meridith with James Wexler & Jason Mitchell
Denise: We have seen a lot of local publicity in several media outlets including print, radio and television about Selling Scottsdale. James: Selling Scottsdale is a reality television show for which Jason Mitchell and I were selected as the co-stars. The show focuses on the people behind the homes, the sellers, and the trials, emotions and difficulties of selling a house. Denise: What is the status of the show? Jason: We have been working on the show for nearly a year. The filming of the first episode started in the late spring and wrapped at the end of the summer 2014. I am really proud of how it came out and I think fans of real estate shows will be entertained.
Denise: Are there some major advertisers or networks that are interested? James: Now that the show is finally complete, we were able to shop it to advertisers who were extremely impressed with the finished show and committed enough to fund 6 episodes. Now, the show is being shopped to networks to find a spot in their winter lineups. Denise: When can we expect it to air? James: We do not have a television station yet, who has picked up the show but we are hopeful. We are working hard to get someone to give us a shot and think they will be rewarded with a fun show and a new concept following the selling of real estate process.
Denise: I heard something about ‘Living Like the Pros,’ what is it about? Jason: In partnership with KTAR sports radio, we been fortunate to be selected to work with a local professional athlete to not only showcase their homes and to see how they live, but more importantly give the city of Phoenix a real chance to get to know them on a very personal level, not just as celebrities.

Rob: Many new smart devices have Wi-Fi capabilities built in, so older wiring isn’t as much of a hinderance as it used to be. It’s important to invest in good Wi-Fi infrastructure as that is how many home automation devices can now communicate, but also how the home owner will talk to their system via a smartphone or tablet.
