Hills Chamber pours support into local schools and community groups
The Hills & Districts Chamber of Commerce are putting their money where their mouth is and throwing financial support behind not one but two deserving sections of the community this year. This month alone, the HDCC have awarded $6,000 in Scholarships for local Year 12 students in 2017. Chamber President Ron Crump said the scholarships were a symbol of the investment the Chamber and local business wanted to make in young people across the district. The recipients include: Ferny Grove State School: Jordan Reimers Everton Park State School: Hayley May Schafer Mitchelton State High School: Dylan Barrett Mitchelton State High School: Kelly Cook Prince of Peace: Jesse Walsh NYWAS - Reserved (Private) In addition to this set of donations, the chamber was also able to provide contributions to three local community groups owing to the success of the 2016 Big Breakfast held in September. Thie event raised approximately $9,000 towards local charities including PCYC $4500: to help cover the cost of running the "Deep Blue Line" program for 5 boys growing up without their fathers. Picabeen $2250: may be put toward purchasing a more permanent shade structure for the community play group NWYAS $2250: fund the purchase of 13 Home Starter Packs to enable recipients who typically have very little home and kitchenwares.

Samford Museum News
As November sees the slowing of school and social group visits we reflect on the variety of activities members have supported during the year. Schools have dominated the group visits. Participation in community events eg Australia Day Celebrations, Anzac Commemoration, Qld Week celebrations, Samford Show, Dickson Seniors Expo, Real Steel Car Rally, Samford RSL’s Centenary of RSL Festival and MBRC’s Older and Bolder program has kept members busy all year. Thank you for the community support Samford Museum has received. The forth coming holiday season is most welcome. During the Christmas / New Year school holidays we will not open Sunday and Wednesday. Starting the year again will be with all things Australian on 26 th Jan 2017. Enoggera & Districts Historical Society Inc.
by Dave Livett As time goes by is the theme of our 2017 calendar; as a long term resident of Enoggera and districts as you peruse it, surely you must remember this. Each month brings back a memory evergreen of what used to be coupled with a view of what it looks like now. Gaythorne RSL, Enoggera Memorial Hall, Brookside Shopping Centre, Mitchelton State School, trams in the streets; the memories are all there to see. I am intrigued by the young couple strolling in the middle of 1950s Blackwood Road: Who were they and where are they now? Would they try walking down the middle of 2016 Blackwood Street? The calendar will be on sale at Brookside SC and RSL Gaythorne and also at the society’s library in the Enoggera Memorial Hall on the corner of Wardell and Trundle Streets, where it will be available on Thursday mornings up to December 8; cost $10 plus $2.50 postage. When we return to work on January 12 we will always be looking for new members, we luv em! Are you interested in the local history of your district? Would you like to be involved in the unravelling of local history that in European terms extends back into the 1840s? Yes? Give us a call on 3366 3191 or visit us on a Thursday morning from January 12 onwards. For more information email edhs.secretary@gmail. com

The Priority Report BMT Tax Depreciation
#18
As a building gets older and items within it wear out, they depreciate in value. The Australian Tax Office (ATO) allows owners of income producing property to claim a tax deduction called depreciation, on a building’s structure and plant and equipment assets contained within it. Claiming depreciation is a significant taxation benefit, and one which many investment property owners are unaware of. Depreciation is a non-cash deduction—you do not need to spend any money to claim it.

U13A’s West Arana Hills— From the Manager Jo Pollard 2016 was a successful year for the WAHRLFC U13A’s!!! After playing well most of the season they ended on a high note by winning the GBJRL U13 Division 2 Grand Final. With the generous sponsorship from the Professionals, the year culminated in an end of season weekend away at a YMCA Camp at Joyner. The boys had so much fun swimming in the pool, having a campfire and toasting marshmallows, along with challenging themselves with raft building and the “Possum Glide”. The Possum Glide was a team activity where one person was harnessed at one end on their own, while 5 boys were harnessed at the other end together and on the count the boys would run forward, sending their single harnessed team mate shooting up into the air!! We now know that a couple of the boys have a slight fear of heights but with encouragement from their team mates they gave it a go and all completed the task. The coaching and management staff are very proud of the boys and really appreciate the support that Bradley Butten, Ian Weaving and their team have given to the boys this year. Without their support we would not have been able to give them this great experience. Thank you again for your support for the second year in a row!
From us all at Professionals Priority we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. We look forward to working with you in 2017.
Hills Community Carols This year the Hills Community Carols will be held on the 3 December from 4pm in the George Willmore Park. There will be food and drink vendors, free face painting, carnival rides and to complete the evening, a wonderful fireworks display. We are looking forward to sharing the Christmas cheer with everyone again this year.

Fitness News Blast 4 TIPS TO STILL REACH YOUR FITNESS GOAL IN 2016
How well did you stick to the fitness resolutions you made on January 1? If you haven’t made much progress, it’s not too late. These last weeks are a great time to kick start so your next New Year’s resolution can build upon your recent success. So here are our top four tips: 1. Set a short-term goal. With only four weeks left, set a short-term goal and visualise yourself reaching it. Was your goal to lose 8 to 10 kilos. Cut down that goal to just 2 kilos and focus your efforts only on that. You can set a bigger goal once you‘ve reached this milestone. 2. Share your goals with a close friend. It’s always easier when you enlist the help of a close friend and share your fitness goals. Having someone else hold you accountable makes it easier to reach your goals. 3. Be realistic about your exercise schedule. Don’t immediately try for five days a week. Can you block off 30 minutes just three days a week? Start there. Just two? Start now and add more days as you go. 4. Be consistent. Consistency gets results. This is an appointment time with yourself that you don’t want to cancel. The year is not over yet! Recommit to your New Year’s resolutions and move towards your goal before the year is over. Christmas Greetings from Janelle and the coaching team at Curves Brookside.

The Queensland Family History Society (QFHS) is offering a beginners course in family history research early in 2017. The six-week course is designed to involve participants in the process of sound genealogical research and to teach the most up-to-date methods of family history searching using a variety of resources. All participants will have the opportunity to use all the resources at the QFHS Library and Resource Centre. This means that any non-members who enrol in the course will have complimentary use of the Library for the duration of the course. In addition, everyone who enrols in the course will receive a copy of Shauna Hicks’s recent book Where do I start?: a brief guide to researching your family in Australia and New Zealand. The course will be based around this publication and it will provide a handy reference guide. This course offers beginners a chance to find out what is available in the field of family history research, as it is not a case of just typing in your name and letting the computer or subscription website do the rest. The course will be held at the QFHS Library and Resource Centre, 58 Bellevue Avenue, Gaythorne, beginning at 7.30 pm on Monday 13 February 2017. The cost, including the booklet, is $50 for QFHS members and $70 for non-members. You can book and pay online at www.qfhs.org.au under the Events tab. You can find information about QFHS at www.qfhs.org. au. For enquiries, contact the Secretary (email: secretary@ qfhs.org.au).

Mitchelton Garden Club Although it’s still 2016, information about the first 2017 Mitchelton and Districts Garden Club meeting is given this month because that meeting is on Thursday, 2nd February, 2017, and the first 2017 issue of this publication will not be in circulation by then. The guest speaker will be Harry McKinnon, Senior Officer, Stafford - Wavell Heights Section of Home Assist Secure, and his topic will cover security for you and your home. These days we have to take precautions to make our homes safe and secure. Home Assist Secure is a State Government program administered by the Department of Communities. ACRO Home Maintenance (incorporating Stafford Home Assist) provides quality home maintenance and modifications for
eligible clients aged 60+, people with a disability of any age and those with carers who wish to remain living independently at home. Subsidies towards the cost of labour may apply. ACRO (Australian Community Safety and Research Organisation) is a registered not-for-profit charity that delivers services (since 1964) to the community in the area of social justice. For more information contact ACRO: Phone 07 3862 2500 or acro_has@acro.com.au Now that summer is with us remember to water your garden very early in the morning or late in the evening to minimise water loss through evaporation. Keep a check on potted plants and hanging baskets to make sure they don’t dry out. Some may require daily watering. Don’t allow fruit that drops from your fruit trees or vegetables to remain on the ground as this encourages pests and diseases. Promptly pick up the fruit and seal it in a black plastic bag which may be left in the sun to scorch its contents before it is placed in the garbage bin. The Mitchelton and Districts Garden Club Inc. meets on the first Thursday morning of the calendar month (except January) at the Enoggera Memorial Hall, 349 Wardell Street, Enoggera (Refidex 139 A10), corner of Wardell and Trundle Streets. The hall is wheelchair friendly and close to public transport. Meetings commence at 9.45 a.m. with morning tea, and the official start is 10 a.m. when club business, judging of exhibits, and the introduction of a guest speaker take place. Qualified judges and guest speakers are engaged each month and while the speakers’ topics, in the main, focus on horticulture, some speakers deal with well-being, health, craft, floral art, etc. and much knowledge and good fellowship are to be gained from attending. There’s no need for members to be gardeners. At each meeting there’s a lucky door prize, continuous raffle, and trade and plant exchange tables where members and visitors have an opportunity to share excess plants and cuttings. Visitors and new members are always welcome. New members who do not have a show schedule and would like to exhibit specimens from their garden at the February meeting, should contact Pat, the president, on 3356 1256, about the classes on the show schedule. For all other information about this club please phone 3356 1256.
Best wishes are extended to all, for a safe and happy Christmas Season followed by a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

Rod Adamson retires after 36years
Rod Adamson, owner of RD Adamson accountancy has been a trusted source of accountancy knowledge within the community for the past 36years. Now has come the time for Rod to enjoy semi retirement in The Hills District, reveling all that the area has to offer. Rod has been a familiar face around The Hills District, moving to the area in 1970 and setting up his accountancy business in 1995. Originally, Rod carried out contract work in Brisbane, however with the business going from strength to strength, an office was required with 8 Nepean Avenue, Arana Hills, providing the perfect solution. Whilst running his successful business Rod, has raised a family with two boys who both remain within the region. Asking Rod what he loves best about The Hills District, he quickly commented Rod Adamson at his the, ‘accessibility and former office community spirit that reverberates around the district.’ Rod also wishes to thank his loyal clients for their continued support. On Monday 31st October, the business transitioned to the next chapter of its existence and now trades as TaxArana in the capable hands of new owner Steve Brett. With 33years experience within the accountancy industry and previously operating a successful financial planning business from Samford, Steve has a wealth of knowledge he is eager to share. He also boasts a Masters in Business, majoring in Accountancy so is well equipped to assist new and existing clients with their financial requirements. Steve will also have the assistance of Rod, who will continue to work on a part time basis at TaxArana. Pop in and visit the friendly team at TaxArana in their new premises on the Corner of Glenlee & Dawson Parade for all your accounting requirements or give them a call on 3351 6111

PROTECT PROTECT YOUR YOUR HOME HOME FROM FROM TERMITES TERMITES
Brought to you by:
Do you know....Queensland has the most invasive species of termites with Brisbane homes having a 1 in 3 chance of termite damage which could cause huge financial losses. Could your home be under threat from termite damage? Read on to discover how to best protect your home against termites.
TERMITE FACTS
• Termite colonies eat non-stop, 24 hours a day, 7days a week! • Termites have wings that they shed once they have found a good place to build a nest. • Termites are known as “silent destroyers” because of their ability to chew through wood, flooring and even wallpaper undetected. • There are about 2,000 known termite species in the world. Each year, termites cause more than $5 billion in property damage
6 SIGNS YOU COULD HAVE TERMITES
1.
Head banging - One sign of termites is quiet clicking sounds coming from your walls. Soldier termites bang their heads against the wood or shake their bodies when the colony is disturbed to signal danger to the other termites. 2. Flying termites - Usually the first sign of a termite infestation is the presence of flying termites — called swarmers or alates
TERMITE V’s ANTS
3.
Papery or hollow sounding timber - Termites usually consume wood from the inside out, leaving a thin veneer of timber or just the paint. When you knock or tap on an area that has termite damage, it will sound hollow or papery.
How to spot the difference

Unequal wing size
4.
Tight fitting doors and hard-to-open windows - Often related to signs of damp and hot weather, stiff windows and warped doors can also mean termites! The moisture they produce when eating and tunneling through door and window frames causes the wood to warp.
Slender waist
5. Tunnels in wood - The tunnels, also known as ‘galleries’, are obviously quite difficult to see from the outside, but if you see them in a piece of broken timber near or in your house it is a sure sign that termites have set up camp in your home. 6. Frass – Termite Droppings - A key sign of termites, and in particular dry
wood termites, is frass – termite droppings. This indicator of an infestation is something that is always looked for during a termite inspection.

A family of five boys - all apprentices
Some would think Alex Carpenter from Ferny Hills would take up a career in carpentry. This is not the case as Alex has found a passion in flooring, securing a school-based timber flooring apprenticeship with Scribed Flooring in Jamboree Heights, Brisbane. Through the opportunity to try a career with firsthand experience, Alex learnt what flooring was really about and became excited about the opportunity of an Alex Carpenter at Scribed Flooring apprenticeship with Scribed Flooring. Alex is the youngest of five boys – all apprentices. After some flooring work experience, Alex decided to stay on because of the people and reputation of the company. Alex will finish his Certificate III in Flooring Technology soon with plans to run his own company and specialise in high quality flooring. ‘Be open to something that isn’t just your trade. I worked on a penthouse in Fortitude Valley recently and being able to work on expensive developments was such a great experience with industry based responsibilities.I was made for this,’ said Alex

From the Pastor
Seven swans-a-swimming is going to cost me fairly close to $4729 according to an internet search, if they are available at the time. A pear tree I can pick up on Gumtree for $135, a bargain, except I don’t think they grow in our neck of the woods. I don’t know where to even look for eleven bagpipers to come and play at my Christmas bash, let alone what they would cost. All total, if you were serious enough about the carol, “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” to purchase every item for that special someone, I would imagine you would end up spending tens of thousands of dollars. My sensibility tells me I would rather do it on the cheap so I would look for some less costly gifts like two cakes of Dove soap and eleven tracks of Scottish bagpipe music. The trouble is, I am probably changing the value of the Christmas spirit. Some suggest that the age-old carol, “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” was written to symbolically represent a list of dearly loved treasures in the Christian church: 1 True Love refers to God 2 Turtle Doves refers to the Old and New Testaments 3 French Hens refers to faith, hope and love 4 Calling birds refers to the first four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) 5 Golden Rings refers to the first five books of the Old Testament 6 Geese A-laying refers to the first six days of creation 7 Swans A-swimming refers to the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit 8 Maids A-Milking refers to the eight beatitudes spoken by Jesus 9 Ladies Dancing refers to the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit 10 Lords A-Leaping refers to the ten Commandments 11 Pipers Piping refers to the eleven faithful apostles 12 Drummers Drumming refers to the twelve points of doctrine in the Apostle’s Creed If that’s the case, then we need not worry about the value of Christmas spirit changing because the real value of Christmas isn’t what we give or purchase, or whom we see, or how we eat or celebrate. The real value of Christmas is summed up in Titus 2:11, ‘For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.’ God’s grace can neither depreciate nor does it cost us anything more than last Christmas. God’s grace is as priceless as it is free. Have a Godly Christmas. Until next time, Larry (marmie@tpg.com.au)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Dickson residents a safe Christmas and a prosperous 2017. As we all celebrate Christmas this year, I hope you spend valuable time with your family and friends to appreciate the great opportunities we have in Australia. I also ask that if you could please spare a thought this Christmas for our troops overseas as well as for those in our community who are less fortunate than ourselves. My office is again collecting donations for the Pine Rivers Care Network Christmas Hamper Appeal. The hampers will go to those in need this Christmas and require donations of non-perishable food items such as tin fruit, biscuits, cake, custard, fruit juices and tinned vegetables. If you are able to make a donation to one of the hampers please drop the items into my office. Please stay safe on the roads this Christmas and remember that driver fatigue is one of the leading causes of accidents, especially at this time of year. On behalf of my family and staff, I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Through astute and responsible management of the nation’s finances, we have been able to protect Medicare and make record investments in public health. We want a fairer Australia by addressing long-term welfare dependency and giving workers real workplace freedom through important industrial relations reforms that stamp-out union corruption and intimidation. In my portfolio of Immigration and Border Protection, the government has continued to make strong decisions to keep our borders secure and provide assistance to those who are owed protection. Under Labor 50,000 people arrived on 800 boats and 1200 people lost their lives at sea. The Coalition recently marked 840 days without a successful people smuggling venture and we will continue to work with our international partners and our Defence Force at home to turn back boats when it’s safe to do so. There have been no known deaths at sea and we’ve worked to close 17 onshore detention centres. Our objective is to remove people from the regional processing countries of Nauru and Manus as quickly as possible.
Pool Safety
Drowning is a leading, but preventable, cause of death for children under five. As the weather heats up and we head into school holidays, it’s imperative to remember the importance of pool safety. Last year the State Government implemented changes to the Federal Government update pool safety regulations in Queensland. The changes include Recently we marked 100 days since the last election. We award first, second and third place to students from Prep – Year Three. The winners receive a pizza party for their class and a family movie pass.

Happy, Safe & Healthy Holiday Season
As the end of the year approaches I would like to wish everyone in the Ryan electorate a happy, healthy and safe Christmas season. Heading into the warmer months, please remember to be safe around pools and waterways. Always watch out for your children, wear a life jacket and learn life-saving skills. It is also important to prepare for bushfire and storm season. Keep up to date at http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/ community/community-safety/disasters-emergencies/ be-prepared. If you are going away these holidays it is important to make sure you are informed and prepared for any situation. Register your details via the Travel tab at www.dfat.gov.au. It is also very important to make sure you have not just travel insurance, but the appropriate cover for your circumstances. More than half of young people travelling believe the government will help them get home in the event of a medical emergency and this is NOT CORRECT. Having the right travel insurance for your holiday is vital to ensuring you are looked after should anything happen to you. Before you go away visit the Smart Traveller website at www.smartraveller.gov.au to get all the information you need to be informed and prepared. I would like to wish those students who have recently graduated Year 12 all the best for their future endeavours, whether it be in employment, university or travel. If you are still unsure about which direction you will take next year, contact my office for a School Leavers’ Guide which includes plenty of information about education and employment opportunities.

Grants available to support volunteers in Ryan
Volunteers are the backbone of our community and we have many dedicated groups in the Ryan electorate who go above and beyond for others. The Volunteer Grants 2016 recognise these groups by providing funding of up to $5000 to assist the work of their volunteers. These grants can be used by organisations for anything that helps with costs incurred by their volunteers, such as first aid training, background security checks or transport for volunteers who may have a disability. Community organisations can also purchase much-needed equipment, such as iPads or printers, so they can keep pace with technology.

The Ferny Report Mark Furner M.P.
State Member for Ferny Grove
Art Bursary Winners Announced
Mark recently contacted the winners of his Storylines Art Bursary after independent judges returned their verdicts. The judges who volunteered their time to come up with a winner were: • Courtney Pedersen, Head of Visual Arts at QUT • Rebekah Butler, Executive Director of Museums and Galleries Queensland; and • Sally Butler, Assoc. Prof. in Art History at the University of Queensland
The judges and Mark all remarked on the impressive array of talent present in the community. Mark was pleased to award the second and third prize winners with cheques and certificates to congratulate them on their achievement, and to thank them for the contribution their art makes to the Ferny Grove region. Vi s u a l A r t i s t J u l i e Stirling won second place, and hopes to use the $500 prize money to continue her expansion i n t o d i g i t a l w o r k s Mark with Ferny Grove artist and through the purchase of Storylines Art Bursary runner up, Julie Stirling. state-of-the-art digital computer programs. Shuhei Lawson, a cellist and high-school student, won third place and $250. The winner will be announced publicly and awarded the first prize of $2000 at a later date.
Storm and Fire Season Preparedness
The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted a wet summer, so Mark would like to remind everyone to ensure you know how you will stay safe if heavy rain floods local roads. While some floodwaters may appear safe and calm, they are unpredictable and deceiving so please do not risk driving though floodwater. It’s been many years since we’ve had a major fire in this area, so it’s important we don’t become complacent about fire safety. Ensure you have removed combustible materials such as dead leaves and branches from your yard and gutters, trim low-laying branches and make sure LPG cylinders are upright and relief valves are pointed away from your home. Summer preparedness information including stickers, fact sheets, magnets, and on a range of topics from energy saving tips, to storm readiness and emergency contact numbers will be available in Mark’s office in December.
Merry Christmas From Mark and his family and staff to you and your family, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.

THUMBS UP THUMBS DOWN THUMBS DOWN to the state of our roads.
The highway to Warwick and beyond from Brisbane is a ‘goat track’ and makes you cry at the billions of road and motorist taxes that have been wasted. All politicians present and past should lower their heads and say ‘Sorry’
THUMBS UP to Turnbull pushing to
make charities transparent in the manner they distribute their funds. While we and the government give very generously there are some charities that are very skillful at disguising who the real recipients are.
THUMBS DOWN to anyone who does not cringe everytime our Test cricket team bats. I once sat up all night with the radio to my ear enthralled but now I hide from the TV as I am susceptible to bouts of depression and closet crying. THUMBS UP to all those who take the
time and make the effort to light their houses up at Christmas. It’s a lot of mucking about but young and old all love it.

With the end of the year approaching, Arana Netball Club has planning in place in preparation for the 2017 netball season. In keeping with the Club’s philosophy of providing the opportunity for all players to reach their full potential, while enjoying their sport, and keeping an emphasis on sportsmanship and family involvement, Arana Netball Committee has continued to revisit and revise policies as considered necessary. This should make the 2017 season bigger and better than ever for all concerned. Sign-on has been scheduled for Sunday 29th January from 4pm to 6pm. This will be held at the Club’s new shed at the training courts, Leslie Patrick Park, Arana Hills. Uniform items will be available for trying, buying, and/or ordering. Eftpos facilities for payment will be available. On-line registration may be done via the Arana Netball Club web site, and fees may be paid on-line by direct transfer to the Club’s bank account if desired. Players may start paying fees now – more details about this and on-line registration are available on the web site www.arananetballclub.com.au, or by contacting the Registrar, Nathan, directly on 0433 810 308 or by email at nbenzie1@gmail.com Younger players (8 to 10 years next year) need to register directly on-line next year, as part of the Net Set Go programme. Again, contact the Club for more details about this new innovation. Fees have been set for 2017, at $280 for the first player in a family, reducing to $260.00 for subsequent dependent family members up to 18 years. The small increase in fees is passing on the increased costs incurred by clubs, and again Arana Netball Club has kept fees as low as possible, still very affordable compared to comparable netball clubs. After Sign-on, a Fun Day is planned for the following Sunday, 5th February, to welcome both new and returning families to the new season. Trials will then commence at specified dates and times over the next couple of weeks, with teams to be announced by the end of February. Downey Park fixtures commence on Saturday 25th March next year. More specific details of these arrangements will be available to players closer to the events. With no scheduled meeting in December, Arana Netball’s next club meeting is on Monday 16th January, open for all interested in the Club to attend. The meeting, at 7.30pm, will be held in the Boardroom, upstairs at the Arana Leagues Club, Dawson Parade, Grovely. For any further information about any matters relating to Arana Netball, email arananetballclub@ gmail.com, or phone the President, Lorraine, on 3882 2900 or 0432 216 407. At this time of the year, Arana Netball Club wishes to acknowledge and thank all who have supported the Club through the year. As well as netball families and Committee members, this includes the local community, especially those businesses who support the Club in any way, with special mention going to Moreton Bay Regional Council, Arana Leagues Club, fellow member clubs of Arana Sports, and The Hills Echo. Arana Netball Club extends Seasons Greetings and wishes for safe holidays to all, and looks forward to the year ahead. www.hillsecho.com

Our place, your say: Draft Moreton Bay Infrastructure Plan open for community feedback
Everton Mechanical Repairs 43 TIMMS ROAD, EVERTON HILLS
Moreton Bay Regional Council is encouraging local residents to have their say and help shape the region’s future transport, stormwater and community infrastructure with community consultation now open for the draft Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP). For seven weeks until Wednesday, December 21, residents will be able to provide feedback on the proposed LGIP, which outlines council’s vision for vital trunk services including new roads, stormwater drains and open spaces that will benefit the region’s growing community. Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said with the region’s population expected to be greater than 620,000 by 2031, the draft LGIP was an important instrument to help guide growth and balance both the current and future needs of the Moreton Bay Region. Mayor Sutherland said the proposed LGIP formed part of council’s living framework approach to the region’s planning scheme and would help to ensure the scheme remains contemporary and adaptable to the everchanging needs of the community.
