Farmer Brown’s Pizzas

From a simple start in 2015, Farmer Brown’s Pizzas has grown in leaps and bounds to become a well known, and much loved name in The Hills District. The fully licensed, mobile wood fired pizza set up, together with Farmer Brown’s trained pizza chefs, produce traditional and authentic pizzas to be enjoyed by all. Only the finest and freshest ingredients along with their own homemade sauce are used, resulting in delicious pizzas packed with texture, flavour and character. The menu features a large range of classic pizza choices, from margherita, ham and pineapple to pepperoni and smashed pumpkin, as well as a couple of dessert pizzas. There are also Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options available. Cash and Efpos are accepted. Farmer Brown’s Pizzas cater all over Brisbane from small intimate celebrations to large festival type events. If you have an upcoming function, give them a bell. Alternatively, head on down to the Keperra Picnic Grounds on a Thursday or Friday between 4pm and 8pm and try one for yourself... Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

The Flying Nun

With so many nooks and crannies, this Samford institution offers a quiet and private dining experience even when the cafe is bustling. Inside dining features colourful stained glass windows and outside dining features a rainforest garden with mosaics and sculptures galore. At its core is an old Uniting church, which is more than 100 years old. In 1922 it was moved down the hill to its present location by horse and cart. The owners aim to consistently provide a high-value product — service, food, coffee and ambience. All cakes are made on site and are able to be ordered in advance for special occasions. The Flying Nun is also available for functions and is fully licensed.

Wow, have you noticed that the café scene is growing in the Hills? Look no further than D-SOL in Ferny Hills. This café is serving up delicious breakfasts and award winning Campos coffee, and is a must do for any brunch enthusiast. The friendly staff at D-SOL offer a full coffee menu including pour overs and single origin coffees. For those that aren’t sold on coffee they have a great range of smoothies, teas, milkshakes, juices, sodas and more. Breakfast options range from healthy smashed avocado to indulgent Belgian waffles. Then there are the lunch time burgers. OMG those burgers! The house specialty, however, is their heart-warming potato cakes; soft fluffy and absolutely to die for. If you are in a rush, these guys have you covered. They have a cabinet full of grab-n-go salads, wraps and sandwiches as well as freshly baked muffins and sweets. Plus their whole menu is available for takeaway! There is no way you leave this cute little cafe without feeling completely satisfied. Cafe Lagarto

Named after the venue’s cheeky water dragons, Café Lagarto offers the ultimate relaxing outdoor dining in beautiful Samford Valley.
