Bowling up a Storm

An update from the Gaythorne Bowls Club

It has been quite a month for the Gaythorne Bowls Club with competitions, club celebrations, and honours being given out. Here is a wrap up of results from the Gaythorne Bowls Club.

On Saturday 17th June, the B Singles final was played out between Brendan McGrory and Stuart Goodwin. What a fabulous game with Brendan running out the eventual winner 25 to 9. Congratulations Brendan! We also must extend a big thank you to John Dial who was the marker and kindly donated a bottle of wine for the winner. Results are below:-

Samantha Bayer beats a defender in the NPLW U23 match

Mitchelton’s National Premier League Women’s U23 (NPLW U23) side ventured up to AJ Kelly Park to take on Peninsula Power on their home ground on Sunday 9th of July.

The two sides also have a history with Power beating Mitchelton in last years FQPLW U23 final, after Mitchelton finished top of the ladder. Mitchelton wore a specially designed jersey for the game to celebrate NAIDOC week. Unlike lasts years final Mitchelton put on dominant display to defeat Power 4-0. With goals to Audrey Farrell, Charlotte Andrew, Madison Lay and Samantha Bayer. The win keeps Mitchelton in the top four and if they keep up their good form they look to be finals bound.
