Pickleball Promises Plenty of Fun

Come and try Pickleball, the fastest growing sport in Australia at Mitchelton State High School. A mixture of badminton, table tennis and tennis create a sport that’s fun for everyone.

Samford Pickleball is delighted to bring this fabulous new sport over the range for the residents of Mitchelton and surrounds. Zak, who founded Samford Pickleball off the back of his tennis centre Samford Valley Tennis said this practical paddle sport that you can learn in minutes, and play for a lifetime is accessible to everyone from all walks of life.

‘All of our new players can play a match within about 20 minutes of practice, and now enjoy our round robin match play sessions twice a week,’ said Zak.

‘Pickleball is more versatile than tennis where you can have four players of different skill levels enjoy a competitive match – unlike tennis where the skill levels need to be similar. The rallies are generally longer, while still being less physically demanding compared to other racket sports,’ said Zak. Sessions will take place on a weekly basis at the great undercover location of the Mitchelton State High School with LED lights so come rain, hail or shine there will always be an opportunity to play.
