All these gentlemen have major talents, experience, qualifications, and intriguing stories to tell. So, read on to discover more about these talented businessmen within our community. Both our ‘Women in Business’ and ‘Men in Business’ features can be viewed on our website at www.echonews.com.au via their own ‘Mini Mags’. If you would like to participate in edition two of this feature please contact katie@hillsecho.com for more information Queensland is home to more than 445,000 small businesses (those employing less than 20 people) that are at the core of every industry sector. They are in every community in every region, represent over 97% of businesses statewide, and employ approximately 44% of all private sector workers.

Warwick Brown

Director Farmer Browns Pizza & The Farm Shack Farmer Brown’s Pizzas, has earnt its title as one of the area’s most popular mobile catering services in The Hills District, but how did it all begin? The answer is Warwick Brown, a man who spent his childhood living the farm life on the outskirts of Dayboro. From chasing cows, to getting chased by cows, to stacking motorbikes and learning how to gracefully fall off horses, Warwick sure made the most of it. The food especially. In the Brown household, meals were always fresh and jam-packed with flavour due to the numerous veggie patches and fruit trees on their doorstep. However, once childhood was over and Warwick had gained experience working in management, he set out to chase his dream of operating his own small business. Pizza was his passion, and Warwick wanted to share it with our community. December 2015 marked the official launch of his fully licensed, mobile wood-fired pizza set up, Farmer Brown’s Pizzas. All the ingredients are fresh as day, some home grown and some sourced locally. With Warwick’s dedication and young driven team, the business has thrived over the past 6 years, enabling the business to not only add 5 trailers to the Farmer Browns fleet, but also to launch a permanent brick and mortar pizza store in Ferny Hills—the Farm Shack. Not to mention, the booming business has since earned itself a pretty significant following. With a menu full of

favourites such as Ham and Pineapple, Margherita, and Pepperoni, to fresh new tongue-tinglers like Pesto Pizza, Tandoori Chicken, and Nutella and Marshmallow, Farmer Browns Pizzas has generated a huge community-wide hype, with 3000 loyal Facebook followers and glowing reviews sprinkling the page. Warwick and his pride-filled staff are renowned for their catering skills, their customer service, their personal interactions with patrons, and their ability to deliver molto bene meals to all. The team usually caters for events such as parties, festivals, special occasions, weddings, and fetes. Their mantra is product and service, strongly believing that if you serve a great product with exceptional service, everybody wins. Clearly, Warwick and his dream have come a long way. Farmer Browns Pizzas is now fortunate enough to be booked out most Saturday nights for a few months in advance and The Farm Shack is thriving. His team of nearly 20 staff are his pride and joy, as they all take so much care in what they do. Best yet, with all his success in the suburbs, Warwick never abandoned his roots; he still lives out at Dayboro with his partner and their 2 cattle dogs, a border collie Kip, and a cat Gus. The Farm Shack is open 4pm-8pm Tuesday to Sunday, and its crew welcome the whole community with open arms—and pizzas galore!
