Saturdays in April & May from 10am - 11:30am Affordable Housing Collaborative is a grassroots community effort, working together to create the quality of life we deserve in the place that we live and love. The expert team is made up of individuals with firsthand experience of life in low-income housing, shelter systems, or have had or are currently experiencing homelessness. Draft Purpose Statement: We members of the Expert Team are resolved to serve as assertive advocates for inclusive solutions to the articulated needs of our fellow neighbors, who also struggle to secure quality affordable housing. Expert Team Norms (Ground Rules): • Honor everyones time, Speak with intention, listen with attention, Start on time, end on time, We are in
shared learning together on this, Model how we want to be treated in how we treat others, Ask for what you need- contribute what you can, Consensus Voting Practice - thumbs up!
Remember, we are NOT providing a service, there are plenty of organizations that do that and plenty of resources that help connect people to services (like United Way’s 2-1-1). We are organizing people dealing with the struggle of living in a safe, decent, affordable home to have a say in creating the quality of life they want in the place that they live through creating an Affordable Housing Collaborative by May 2014.
