Ellie, is a 16-year-old girl from London. I met her while in Shorditch. She has a blog called “Rose & Vintage” it documents her style and her thoughts on fashion and other related topics. The age of people paying attention to fashion is getting younger.

There are many more teenagers who avidly follow fashion and strive to obtain “the butchers hook”.

Beyond Retro is a world leader in second hand & vintage retailing. It’s actually a massive clothes recycling brand, which buys charity clothing and exports it to the third world. It picks out the best bits for its vintage stores. The original Cheshire Street branch is an old dairy, and has a cavernous feel to it, with armfuls of product merchandised by type - Hawaiian shirts here, dungarees there.

Vintage clothing in the East End of London, provides its customers with a wide selection of, European and American vintage and Retro clothing from across the decades. From the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s, all the way through to the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s you will find vintage clothing for prices you won’t find anywhere else in London.

Blitz opened in 2011, and is the largest vintage department store in the world. The vintage department store, covers 3 floors of a glorious old furniture factory that was beautifully renovated. immaculate seersucker blazers, coloured denim, brogues and silk kimonos for the fashion focused clientele (including myself).

All of the clothes at Blitz are cleaned, steamed and folded before they are well merchendised on the shop floor, which is not something that happens at every vintage shop .

Loud abrasive music forms part of the atmosphere at Rokit. It is used to be one of the best vintage shops in the area, however others have taken over.

However in Rokit is a good place to bag a bargain. It’s best products are spread thinly across its many new stores, but there are still good pieces to be found. The chain also has its own line of vintage inspired garments - including Breton tops and jewellery.

BOXPARK opend in 2011 by Roger Wade in Shoreditch and will be open for the next few years.

BOXPARK was made feom stripped, and refitted shipping containers, they created a unique, low cost, pop-up stores.

Its a great location that is filled with a mix of fashion and lifestyle brands, galleries, cafĂŠs and restaurants.

BOXPARK is not a normal shopping centre. It is more of a community of brands packed. There is so much talent, innovation and attitude that puts creativity and fashion back on the street.

The East End Hipster Look THE VARSITY JACKET It seems to have fromed the uniform of the East End. It works with skinny jeans and dresses!
