Talk of the Town How to Get a Tax Free Retirement
What is this strategy that so few know about? INVESTMENT GRADE LIFE INSURANCE! This is sometimes known as a LIRP (life insurance retirement plan), 702(J) plan, 7702 plan, or even a “secret 770 presidential plan” that President Ronald Regan used. Some people call it “the rich man’s Roth”. These titles are pure marketing! Life insurance is classified under section 7702 of the internal revenue tax code, and the rest of it is fancy marketing (have you ever heard those “Bank on Yourself ” commercials)? Yea, you guessed it, they’re talking about investment grade life insurance. But what is investment grade life insurance? It’s simply using a life insurance policy to grow cash value. It’s basically the opposite of term insurance, which is when you try to get the highest death benefit for the lowest premium for a predetermined period of time. With LIRP plans you determine how much you want to contribute each year, then get the LEAST amount of death benefit allowed by IRS & life insurance regulations (these are known as TAMRA/TEFRA/DEFRA laws). The goal is to GROW THE CASH VALUE. The life insurance is just the vehicle to hold the cash (but it’s still a good benefit to have). High net worth people have used these plans for decades, and many Fortune 500 CEOs also take advantage of these plans. Historical rates of return with a properly designed plan can range from 5% to 8% per year, after the cost of insurance. Well, by now I’m sure you’re asking yourself why you would do this versus a 401k or IRA retirement plan. Simple answer, TAXES. This is known as a “Tax Free Retirement Plan”. When it comes to taxes, it’s pay Uncle Sam now or pay him later. There’s a great book to read called “Tax Free Retirement” by Patrick Kelly that explains all this in more detail. But let me ask you a simple question: do you think taxes will go up or down in the future? If you think they’re going to go up, then why would you put money into something that you’ll pay higher taxes on when you need the money most (in retirement)?
Now, I know there are a bunch of you out there saying you get tax deductions now for IRA/401k contributions, you’ll be in a lower tax bracket when retired, etc. etc. But remember, if you defer the tax, you defer the tax calculation! And, believe it or not, we are still in a historically low tax environment based on the last 100 years. Are you really all that sure that you’ll be in a lower tax bracket in retirement? Plus, if your retirement plan grows (which it should), then you’d be paying taxes on a much larger amount versus paying tax now on the contributions alone. So, to wrap up, here are the main advantages of developing a LIRP or Tax Free Retirement Plan. Keep in mind that you need at least a good 15-20 year timeframe to build cash value; that’s why I’m targeting the younger folks for a change. A) You determine the amount to put in each year / no contribution limits B) No income restrictions like you have with Roth or Traditional IRAs C) Cash value grows tax deferred, but can be taken out later TAX FREE D) Fair rates of return (historically 5% - 8%) without market risk E) There is no IRS penalty for distributions prior to 59 ½, like IRAs have F) The tax free death benefit is always good for a growing family I’d encourage younger folks to research this strategy, because I’ve just given a brief outline. My good friend Ed Slott always says, go from “forever taxed, to never taxed”! As always, if you would like a free report, a free consultation, a copy of my free book, or would like to attend one of our events, please visit our website, give us a call, or stop by the office. And, as always, remember: The purpose of the money dictates where you put it! Until next month, James D. Stillman

As most folks know in the Lake Norman area, JDS Wealth Management helps folks plan for retirement with a focus on asset preservation, safe growth, and guaranteed lifetime income strategies. These strategies usually consist of a blend of investments, savings, life insurance, and annuities. We usually focus on working with people 55 years of age and older, but this month I wanted to spend a little time with the younger folks out there - between ages 30-45. Why? Because this age group may be missing out on the best kept secret in the retirement planning industry!

When it comes to fashion, I’m not necessarily the first one hitting the stores, looking for the latest on-trend pieces. Sure, I don’t want to be out of style, but I prefer classic pieces that have staying power. Not everyone shares this same philosophy. That’s the beauty of fashion—there are staples and there are statements, and it’s one of the easiest ways to project your individuality. This is why we dedicated an entire issue to style. Ahead of the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, we talked with four pit crew members from different racing teams about their careers, workload, and what they do when they’re not in the pits. We took the opportunity to dress them in the latest men’s fashion and have a photoshoot on the speedway (page 36). A major thanks goes out to everyone at Charlotte Motor Speedway who helped make this shoot happen. We also spoke with Stacee Michelle, a Charlotte-based stylist, about the fashion forecast for this season (page 22). Michelle recently styled the new Fabletics campaign, and her work can be seen throughout Charlotte’s publications and news outlets. Lavendar and Monkee’s also lend their expertise in this issue, pulling together a few outfits for women that exemplify the season’s trends (page 26). From day to night, these boutiques have you covered. We’d be remiss if we left out interior style as part of this issue. We featured a gorgeous rental property on Lake Norman that mixes the best of modern and industrial décor. Take a look for yourself on page 60 (and look into booking a stay, too). We hope this issue helps you set your personal style for fall—from your home to your closet.

ake your place at the starting line for a good cause this month. The Dancing Davis Shaking Off Cancer Foundation hosts its first 5K at 9 a.m. Sept. 24 at ESC Park in Troutman. The foundation was developed to honor Davis, who battled and won his fight with hepatoblastoma liver cancer. “We had an amazing amount of support from our community, family, church, friends, and people we have never met that we decided we wanted to give back what we, as a family, received during Davis’ battle,” says Mika Overcash, Davis’ mom. “Our goals are to raise awareness that childhood cancer is real and not rare. We also want to be able to help other families that may be suffering financially. Last, but not least, we hope that we can also give support and hope to other families fighting this horrific battle.” Since its founding in 2015, the foundation has hosted a toy drive, a dance-athon, and a family BBQ event that raised over $10,000. and fits you best, and no one will know if you are wearing a size 2 or 12!
Stacee Michelle, a stylist based out of Charlotte, has been fascinated with the fashion industry ever since she was a young girl. After interning with Tommy Hilfiger in New York City, she has assisted with styling celebrities like John Legend, Fergie, Diane Kruger, Hillary Swank, and ZZ Top. She has also worked as an apparel and accessories buyer for a Fortune 500 company, styled for local and national magazines, worked as a regular contributor on the Fox 46 Morning Show, and partnered with organizations like NASCAR, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Johnson & Wales University. Michelle sits down with us to talk about the hottest style trends this season and gives tips for how to look your best all year round.
What about colors? How do you choose the best ones for your skin and hair color? We all feel safe in black, white, and neutrals, but it is time to step out of the box. The goal is to always enhance your natural complexion when selecting a color to wear. Your skin tone is broken up into two basic types: warm and cool. The easiest way to determine which tone you fall into is to simply turn over your wrist. If the veins that you can see are more of a greenish color, you are warm-toned. If they are bluish, then you are cool-toned. Then, my suggestions for best colors for each are:
What are the hottest style trends for fall 2016? Everyone needs at least one statement choker going into fall. It will transform any minimal outfit into a fashionable ensemble. Ruffles were a must for spring/summer and will continue into fall. Rather than being soft and flowy, ruffles this season will be more structured and defined. Navy jackets with double-breasted buttons will [also] be sailing off the racks this fall season. It’s the perfect layering piece you can wear over a dress or paired with some destructed jeans for the weekend.
For those people who are a little intimidated by fashion, what are a couple of easy tips for incorporating these trends into their wardrobes? It is good to know your own personal style. If a statement choker is too extreme for your day or night activities, opt for a small wrap or lace choker that is a little more understated but still has a similar impact. The easiest way to incorporate the ruffle trend into your wardrobe is to select a ruffle top or bottom option and pair it with something smooth. Warm • Hair: Dark brown to dark blonde • Skin: Has a golden undertone Stacee Michelle dress so it proportionally looks correct when you pair it with a jacket or blazer. What makes the navy jacket trend so easy is that it is so versatile—you can find it at just about every price point, dress it up or down, and it is that one piece that will work season after season and never go out of style.

What are the most important elements to consider when dressing for your body type?
What’s your best piece of advice on how to keep your wardrobe fresh season after season?
When dressing your body type you should understand how your measurements directly affect the apparel items you select. Height, shoulders, torso, and hips are just a few of the measurements that determine whether or not an A-line with an empire waist or sheath dress will flatter your frame best. Secondly, my biggest tip to both women and men is to not worry about what the size says but rather wear what fits you best. For instance, the size you wear in H&M is very different from the size you may wear in Old Navy or Ann Taylor. The best thing about clothing is that the size tag is on the inside, not the outside, so wear what’s comfortable
The best way to keep your wardrobe fresh is to incorporate new solid colors for the season. Colorful solids are a great option because they allow you to embrace the trend, but also make it easy to carry from one season to the next. It is okay to invest in one or two prints each season, but do not rely on them. Investing too heavily in prints could potentially leave you next season with a bunch of items in your closet that are dated and out of style. Recipe
Classic Comfort by JENNY BRULE
C
Creamy, tangy pimento cheese is my Kryptonite, my delicious weakness. There are some dishes that simply aren’t as good when put through a healthy makeover—but this is not one of them. Through a few modifications and one unorthodox additional ingredient, I’ve come up with a pimento cheese recipe that can hold its own against the traditional favorite. Don’t be thrown by the fish sauce—it doesn’t give even a trace of fish flavor; it only adds umami and balances out the sweetness that comes with lowfat mayo. It’s my secret for making many dishes more delicious.
Kryptonite Pimento Cheese 2 cups shredded 2 percent mild cheddar cheese 2 cups shredded 2 percent sharp cheddar cheese
L ea
3 teaspoons grated onion ½ cup chopped pimento (roasted red pepper), drained ¼ cup juice from pimentos 1 teaspoon fish sauce ½ cup low fat or light mayonnaise (preferably Duke’s) ½ cup plain Greek yogurt 4 dashes (or more) cayenne pepper, to taste Combine the shredded cheeses in a mixing bowl and add the onion, pimento, pimento juice, fish sauce, mayo, yogurt, and cayenne. Mix well with a spoon or rubber spatula. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to three days. Serve with crackers or as a filling for sandwiches.

“The trend for this fall is elevating your denim to the next level. A denim dress, denim romper, denim jumpsuit, denim button down—denim in all different forms. As for your jeans, a huge trend is to elevate, say, your skinnies and wear them with a cropped inseam, a frayed hem, a high low hem, higher waists. The Hometown Guy
Quiet, poised, and possessing a movie-star smile, Daniel Smith cuts a striking figure both in and outside the pits as rear tire changer for Kevin Harvick’s No. 4 team at Stewart-Haas Racing. A Charlotte native, Smith, 32, graduated from Concord’s First Assembly Christian School and has been familiar with NASCAR for as long as he can remember. After going to ECU for a semester, Smith came back to Charlotte to attend the NASCAR Technical Institute (NTI) and PIT 5 Off5 On School, “...which landed me a tryout with Hass.” “I love the competition and the team aspect of what I get to do,” says Smith. “The travel can be rough as it’s a very long season. But after my mornings welding and working in the shop, it’s almost like recess in the afternoon—I get to work out, train with the team, and do what I love.” When not at work, Smith loves spending time with his family, boating and jet-skiing on the lake, and checking out the dining scene at area restaurants like eeZ Fusion and Sushi. “I know how fortunate I am to have such a great job,” says Smith. “It’s a lot of hard work and important to recognize that respect has to be earned. I never lose sight of that.”

The Gentleman Farmer
By his own admission, Taylor C. Moyer, 28, has a hard time sitting still. Moyer, race engineer for Kasey Kahne’s No. 5 team, is a man in perpetual motion. When he’s not on the job at Hendrick Motorsports, he’s tending more than five acres of land at his homestead in nearby Olive Branch, helping out on his neighbors’ farms by driving a combine or plowing fields, or manufacturing board and bike racks through Oakmulgee, his own small custom metal fabrication business. “I grew up on a farm in Vermont,” says Moyer. “My time was occupied with raising beef cattle, racing and fixing dirt Sprint cars, and playing sports. My dad was a crew chief for a team in the ACT Series so I was exposed to racing early on. My goal some day is to return to farming.” Moyer drove his truck to Charlotte after graduating high school to attend UNC Charlotte, majoring in mechanical engineering. He likens his role as race engineer to that of an offensive coordinator on a football team. “In the broadest terms what we try and do is collect and process data—elements such as fuel mileage and body attitude—to make decisions and modifications to give us a competitive edge with our car,” he says. “This sport is ever changing; it’s what makes it so challenging and so exciting.”

The Surfer Dude
Though Chad Avrit left Southern California years ago, the call of the open water followed him all the way to Lake Norman. Avrit, rear tire changer for Chase Elliott’s No. 24 car, also owns Swell Board Shop in Mooresville. “Swell is a West-Coast style board shop I opened at LangTree two-and-a-half years ago,” says Avrit, who hails from El Centro, Calif., outside of San Diego. “We feature paddleboards, skateboards, long-boards, lake surf boards, and wakeboards. I really enjoy wakeboarding on the lake and try and get out there as much as I can.” Avrit, 33, studied and prepared to be a math teacher but became intrigued with all things NASCAR. He moved to Mooresville in 2006 and attended the PIT 5 Off 5 On School, which led to his start in the industry. He’s been at Hendrick Motorsports for five years, spending his first four years on Jeff Gordon’s team and the past season with Elliot. “There is definitely pressure to stay healthy and keep competitive throughout the long 39-week season,” says Avrit, a dedicated family man who loves spending time with his wife and children. “I simply love the competition, though, and having the opportunity to work with a great group of guys is special.”

The Seasoned Veteran
Rick Pigeon’s reputation as a sagacious “pundit of the pits” is so well established, he even has a surf and turf combo named for him at Birkdale Village’s Red Rocks Café. “Many people may perceive me as intimidating or gruff, as I’m a big guy and pretty intensely focused at work,” says Pigeon, the gas man for Kurt Busch’s No. 41 team at Stewart-Haas Racing. “I simply have a small circle of friends and people who know me well. They know I’m fun to be around and someone who really enjoys the camaraderie of the team.” Pigeon, 41, has enjoyed more than 17 years in the pits and has been with Stewart-Hass Racing since 2009. He was on Danica Patrick’s No. 10 team prior to joining Busch. “I’m originally from Vermont and was visiting a buddy who worked in the industry down here in ’99, sleeping on his couch,” says Pigeon. “A friend of his who was a crew chief came to the house and asked me which team I jacked for. When I told him no one, he encouraged me to try out for the team he was with. I’ve been in NASCAR ever since.” Pigeon loves to spend his free time with his young son and paddle boarding at the lake. “I like to go when it’s quiet,” says Pigeon. “I follow the shoreline for as far as I can go. It’s a great work out.”

Old World Molding Company, located just one block north of downtown Mooresville, claims to make the finest cutting boards in the market. And chefs both local and worldwide seem to agree. Their secret ingredient? Precision and passion. “As an engineer, I like everything very precise,” says owner Jeff Mathews. “I do a glue joint on every board—a male and a female end that fits together. That alone creates such a stable board, it’s more than just appearance.” It was this attention to detail and superior craftsmanship that landed him his very first deal with the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando in 2008.

Jeff Mathews, owner
“I’m not a sales person, but I met with the executive chef at the Ritz in Orlando while staying there and we hit it off,” he says. “He quickly purchased hundreds of boards and loved them.” Mathews didn’t know it at the time, but that chef was the mentor to all of the Ritz chefs worldwide, so Mathews soon started receiving calls from all over the country, asking if he would consider making them boards as well. Now Old World Molding Company creates hundreds of custom shapes and sizes for most of the Ritz-Carltons throughout the U.S., as well as some properties internationally.

Mathews’ next big break came when Disney found out about his boards and had him do a vendor expo on site. “That is when it exploded with Disney,” he says. “Our items can be found throughout the Disney parks, resorts, and many of the stores at Disney Springs.” Although the boards are used for presenting and serving food, and are not sold through retail, Mathews says some customers love the boards so much that they steal them. The Four Seasons at Disney was the next to embrace the boards, which has led to business throughout the Four Seasons family as well. “It is a small world for the top chefs, and they all seem to know each other,” Mathews says. “So when they are happy, the word gets out.” And that word is passion. “Top chefs have the freedom to create whatever they want to create,” he says. “They have a strong passion for cooking and they like that I have a strong passion for creating boards.”

intern program with students at Lake Norman High School. Three students currently work at the shop, designing boards and then running the computer program that cuts the wood. “We use CNC computerized machining so it’s like a video game to them,” he says. “They love it.” Old World boards are also a popular housewarming gift for local realtors, a corporate Christmas gift, or a wedding gift, as each one can be personalized using the latest technology in CNC (computer numerical control) and lasers. Mathews says he looks at each board as if it will be in someone’s house, something people will look at every day. He won’t sell anything to anyone that he wouldn’t want himself. “That really drives me,” he says. “I could probably make more money if I didn’t have that attitude, but that’s not important to me.” www.oldworld.com LNM

A contemporary lake house sits at the edge of an expansive stretch of water, nestled within a forest of leafy trees. While the interior is finished in stone and steel and washed in cool greys, the expansive windows and light wood ceilings give the home a beachy feel. Lake Norman Hideaway serves as a vacation rental for people who want to experience lake life luxuriously. There are sunny bedrooms with stick wood walls, delicate pendant lights strung from ceilings, and breezy living rooms that open to panoramic lake views. A few steps from the main residence, a bright and airy boat house that was turned into a studio apartment is so close to the water you could go from cooking in the kitchen to diving in the lake in a single breath. Lawrie Lawrence, the owner of Lawrie Lawrence Real Estate, owns this vacation rental. He saw the potential in a scrappy lake lot with an old boat house and turned it into a beautiful getaway. With well over 200 vacation homes in the area, there has been a rise in rentals over the past few years, Lawrence says—and Lake Norman Hideaway is yet another gem added to

DIY design it yourself How can you emulate this industrial-loft-meets-beach-house look in your own home? Here are a few tips and tricks: Keep the palette simple and neutral. This doesn’t just mean old-school whites and beiges. Neutrals such as olive, grey, taupe, caramel, navy, cream, and gold are colors that blend in with other colors and act as a base. Don’t over-design. Spend your money on a few statement pieces. In Lake Norman Hideaway, features that really make an impact are the brick veneer and stick wood walls that gave the bedrooms texture, as well as the pendant lights that hung from the ceilings. Streamline your space. Choose pieces with clean lines to create a home that has modern elegance. Avoid anything that is particularly embellished or elaborate. Soften things up. A house that imitates a big-city loft can become harsh. Brighten up your home and allow it to breathe by letting in a touch of the sea. Beach it up with woven textures, weathered wood, and light linen fabrics. Add some bling. Accessories are crucial to the look of your home. Use them to bring in pops of color and add flavor to your home—just don’t create clutter by buying too many.

the list. Lawrence envisioned an industrial modern lake house from the beginning, and he hired interior designer Laurie Anderson to help achieve this look. “With any good design, it’s a collaboration of a lot of people and trades to bring it all together,” Anderson says. “The biggest challenge was getting the various trades to build to our specifications within our tight timeline, because clients had already been booked for the rental.” Lawrence kept the original part of the
64
lakenormanmagazine.com SEPTEMBER 2016
house but expanded upon it by adding two bedrooms and a great room. The boathouse is particularly special because it was grandfathered in: it couldn’t be built today because of its proximity to the water, but since it was already there Lawrence was allowed to enhance it. He and Anderson made the boat house beachier and more casual, with a vibe that is lighter and airier than the main house. A vacation rental goes through a lot of wear and tear, so they made sure to choose heavy-duty finishes—now one
of Lawrence’s favorite parts of the house. “I love the use of some of the newest urban, textured interior finishes and tones, as well as the open concept with strong emphasis on indoor outdoor flow,” Lawrence says. When picking everything from countertops and faucets to furniture and vanities, Anderson struck a balance between industrial and comfort. For instance, when she picked cabinets she wanted the grain to show through the stain, and the styles and
rails on the cabinets to be extra wide. This creates a more modern feel without going too contemporary like the flat cabinet doors you often see in European homes. “The overall thing to keep in mind was clean, simple lines,” says Anderson. “Nothing too fussy or delicate; all the materials have a texture or a grain. Lawrie didn’t want anything too pretty, so I went with pieces that were more masculine with a streamlined industrial feel.”

To balance out this strong look she chose linen fabrics for the furniture, sisal area rugs, and nautical accessories like diving weights. She kept the color palette neutral with soft greys that melt into blues and creams. Bold coral and buttery-yellow accents pepper the interior with pops of fun color, while the floor-to-ceiling glass gives the home sparkling sunlight and sapphire water views. “Industrial modern is not new in the design world—it’s been very popular in larger cities like L.A. and New York,” Anderson says. “It lends itself to the old industrial loft feel you get in downtown areas. But it is fairly new for Charlotte and especially Mooresville.” Staying in a house so gorgeous and sumptuous might tempt vacationers to remain tucked inside its artfully accessorized walls. But with windows so grand it’s hard to ignore the water a few steps away. Luckily, a visiting family can be secure in the knowledge that a luxe lake house awaits after a long day in the sun. Switzerland, long regarded as Europe’s playground, is increasingly becoming a top destination for American families seeking outdoor adventure, Old-World European charm, and scenic, carefree travel aboard the world’s most sophisticated transportation network. Navigate the Alps on a panoramic scenic train journey, picnic like a local in back-country villages, and soar above it all on cable cars that rise through the clouds. Your ticket to ride is the Swiss Travel Pass. Good for unlimited travel over Switzerland’s sophisticated network of trains, buses, and boats, the pass provides free and discounted museum entrances and excursions at hundreds of venues throughout the country. The Family Card is free of charge with a regular Travel Pass and allows children under age 16 to travel free when accompanied by a ticketed parent. After arrival in Zurich, check out southeast Switzerland’s “Holiday Corner” by taking a short one-hour train to Chur. off Susswinklegasse, or “sweet sugar alley,” the centuries-old home of master bakers. While navigating Old Town Chur’s winding alleyways and public squares you’ll get a glimpse into the daily, small-town Swiss life with well manicured gardens, tidy courtyards, and proud shop owners displaying their wares. Visit the Cathedral of Mary’s Ascension, the focal point of Chur’s Bishop’s Court. Founded in the 12th century, the Romanesque styled cathedral’s massive stained-glass window, a gift from France, is said to have made the overland voyage to Chur piece by piece, encased in butter to protect it. Chur is the embarkation point for the fabled Glacier Express. Together with its sister train, the Bernina Express, the railways are recipients of UNESCO’s World Heritage designation. One of the most scenic rail journeys in the world, this panoramic train ascends to Arosa, traversing soaring viaducts and traveling through steep Alpine passes where plunging waterfalls appear to be within grasp. In Arosa, sample the local dairy cooperative’s Alpine cheeses. They’ll melt your heart with buttery rich taste, long finish, and floral aroma. Explore more than 200 kilometers of hiking trails in this tiny mountain recreation area, and wind through ancient forests and past wildflower meadows where the kids are sure to encounter Switzerland’s unofficial ambassador, the Brown Swiss cow.

Visit the newly christened Gotthard Base Tunnel at its north portal in Erstfeld where the detail-rich visitor’s center explores economic, cultural, and engineering contributions the tunnel is making to all of Europe. Follow Andermatt with Altdorf, the birthplace of mythical Swiss patriot William Tell. A special adventure awaits the entire family here with the wildly creative investigative game, CSI Tell. Experience this centuries-old village by engaging in a scavenger hunt/crime-solving game where participants are tasked with “solving” a 700-year-old caper (Spoiler: It was Tell) by using a backpack filled with investigative tools such as an umbrella, mirrors, keys, and binoculars. Traverse the countryside around Altdorf and neighboring villages in search of clues to solve the case. Remarkably creative in its construction, CSI Tell routes participants along hiking paths, through vineyards, and down back alleys, delivering a day of family friendly fun.

Close your Swiss visit with a full day at Mt. Pilatus—the famed “dragon mountain,” so called for the medieval legend that dragons lived on the mountain. Journey to the top on the steepest cogwheel train in the world, an engineering wonder built 125 years ago that ascends nearly 2,000 meters from its base, on grades as pitched as 48 degrees. Watch for herds of Ibex scampering about or arrange for special a “safarihike” on Pilatus where multiple sightings of these curve-horned mountain goats are practically guaranteed. Kids thrill on the longest summer toboggan run in all of Switzerland, more than 1,350 meters long. If a ropes course is more to their liking, the challenge found on Pilatus is second to none. When you’re ready to descend, the Dragon Ride aerial tram whisks you down the mountainside opposite the route you ascended for additional spectacular views. The biggest challenge Switzerland poses for a family on vacation is figuring out how soon they can return. LNM

Snapshot photo by STEVE WOLFE
S
teve Wolfe, a doctor practicing in Mooresville, took this photo from his backyard in Cornelius. Even though he’s lived on the lake since 2003, Dr. Wolfe can’t get enough of the spectacular sunsets. “Despite living on the lake for almost 13 years, the number of amazing sunsets is limitless—each is different,” he says. “When there is a particularly interesting background color, I usually race to get my camera and I start firing away.”
