CLOSE YOUR EYES

I love to sleep. It’s really that simple. As I went about my days, searching for something interesting, I realized that, although possibly boring to others, sleeping is truly the best part of my day and I wanted to explore my dreams. Part of the reason I love to sleep is the simple fact that it is my time of rest. I can rest my eyes, rest my muscles and just be still.

These days, there’s not a lot of places where you can just be still.

I was asked the other day why I love my sleep so much? Clearly this person doesn’t and I had to figure out why. In my mind, everyone loves to sleep and those who don’t are just plain crazy insomniacs. She said she was wasting time by sleeping. And she hated to dream. She has nightmares every night and hates the feeling of falling in her dreams.

I wondered if I really was as relaxed as I thought when I was sleeping.

I began to record my dreams, writing down what I could remember and realized how much I go through in a single night. The truth is, I’m not myself at night. I’m not myself in my dreams, but I can’t escape.
