It’s the perfect season to
Let nature make you healthier! What if you could effortlessly feel more relaxed, sleep more soundly and think more clearly? Sounds like a dream? It isn’t! Study after study proves you can do all that—and more!—just by stepping outside!
“Sunny” moods are real!
Soaking up some sun gives you a hefty dose of mood-lifting vitamin D, slashing your risk of depression up to 85%!

Sunshine cures insomnia!
Trees boost brainpower!
Find yourself tossing and turning at night? Just enjoy 10 minutes of sunshine in the morning, and you’ll sleep like a baby tonight! Scientists have found that sunlight invites shuteye two ways: by resetting the area of the brain responsible for guiding the transition to sleep and by revving production of melatonin, a hormone that helps your body know the difference between day and night and causes drowsiness.
Running water relieves stress! The soothing sounds of running water are proven to dial down the body’s production of stress hormones while increasing production of the calming brain hormone dopamine. The effect is so powerful that patients undergoing uncomfortable medical procedures who listen to the recorded sound of a babbling brook experience an amazing 43% decrease in pain.
Stroll through a tree-filled park, and your memory and attention span will increase 20%—and that’s true even if you take that walk in unpleasant weather! Not near a park? Trying sitting on a well-maintained lawn. Australian research reveals that the scent of freshly mowed grass enhances two areas of the brain—one that’s responsible for memory and another that regulates the stress response!
Raindrops erase anxiety! You’d think rainy days would be extra stressful, but the opposite is actually true! Rain fills the air with negative ions, specially charged particles that enter the bloodstream and increase levels of the brain’s own calming hormone, serotonin. They also help cleanse the air, filling your lungs with purified oxygen that increases alertness and eases symptoms of headaches, allergies and even sinus pain.
