Enjoy Slovenia with EKORNA Experience in a different way: ask for a special and unique accommodation and we will arrange sleeping in castles and manors or various sorts of glamping (honey, herbal, chocolate). Since Slovenia is a wine country, you can also spend a night in a wine barrel or become a master of your own zidanica (cottage with a wine cellar).

Travelling around Slovenia, you will enjoy different specialties prepared by our well-known chefs, among them Ana Roš (The World’s Best Female Chef 2017), Tomaž Kavčič, Janez Bratovž, Uroš Štefelin and others. They will prepare traditional Slovenian food for you but in a modern way and present the taste of Slovenian gastronomy at the highest level.

In Slovenia you can find the only beer fountain in the world – taste the best craft beer in style.

The nature of Slovenia is one of a kind and more than a half of its surface is protected, so you will have plenty of options to be active on different biking or hiking trails. Flying over Mount Triglav (the highest peak of Slovenia) and Lake Bled, kayaking, rafting and canyoning in Slovenian rivers, especially in emerald Soča River,

Slovenia is one of the safest countries in the world. The capital city’s name Ljubljana translates as “the loved one”, and even the national anthem talks about friendship and love. all of this will definitely give you an adrenaline rush! During winter time, you will discover the beauty of Slovenia. Ice climbing on frozen waterfalls and snowshoeing in Triglav National Park will make you feel like you are walking in the clouds. If you’re looking for a different adventure, you can become a salt harvester for a day, search for brown bears in nature, visit a fish farm and learn about fish farming and recognizing fresh fish, join the wine harvest or olive picking. Or you can explore the underground world on a unique train and listen to a concert in the Postojna cave.

If you like culture, you will also find interesting options in Slovenia. You can discover incredible sites that are on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. As for the cities, visit Ljubljana and the Ljubljana Castle or Bled with its island and castle. In Piran, you will enjoy the sound of the sea and the echo in narrow medieval alleys; while in Ptuj you can “say goodbye” to the winter during the most famous Slovenian carnival, accompanied by kurenti (the most famous Slovenian carnival mask).

Slovenia might be one of the smallest countries in the World but is full of superlatives and will leave you speechless. The chances are that you’ll find what you’re looking for in Slovenia. There is something for everyone – luxurious unique retreats, fantastic food and wine, the most amazing natural landscapes and cultural richness.

In Slovenia you can almost have a beer with a bear! In the morning, enjoy everything its capital city Ljubljana has to offer, including a unique visit to its oldest brewery and in the afternoon escape into the wild on a mission to find a typical brown bear.

Founded 2,000 years ago as the Roman town of Emona, Ljubljana is a small but lively green capital. It was the European Commission’s Green Capital of Europe in 2016.

Slovenia is active, green and a country to explore. It is small, so you can easily combine a little bit of everything, but if you want to be active and truly slowly discover all its secrets, to disconnect from the world and reconnect with yourself – this is the itinerary to start with.

DAY

Ljubljana is the tiny green capital of Slovenia. It is flat with most of the attractions surrounding a castle hill in the middle, but there are some great views and areas nearby, easily accessible by bike. And this is how you’ll get to know Ljubljana. On an easy but unique private bike trip full of interesting and fun stops along the way. It will be tailor-made for you, whether you prefer good food, interesting history, urban nature or just some fun.

DAY

These days will be all about the detox, a chance to disconnect. If you prefer hiking, Velika Planina is the right choice. Easily reachable plateau in Slovenian mountains, full of picturesque wooden houses that belonged to shepherds – many still do, others have been renovated to offer all the comfort you need. If you prefer to stay just a bit closer to civilisation or if you prefer biking instead of hiking, the heavenly Jezersko valley is the place to go.

As you can see, Slovenia is a tiny country with the best position - in the heart of Europe. You can easily combine your trip with many other countries of Western Europe and the rest of the Balkans. It borders Italy on the west –Venice is only 100 miles (160 km) from Slovenia, and borders Austria on the north –Vienna, another European giant, is 150 miles (240 km) from the border.

In Italy, Milano is 250 miles (400 km) away, Shakespeare’s Verona is within 155 miles (250 km). The Austrian Alps are just across the border – we can even organize a dinner for you in all three countries – appetizer in Slovenia, first course in Italy, main course in Austria and a dessert again in Slovenia.

This gives you a unique opportunity to combine the most popular sights with the promised Slovenian wow factor of the unexpected, unspoiled, unique. You can really have it all.

You can land in Venice or Vienna and we’ll take you to paradise.

THERE ARE 10 LOCALITIES IN CROATIA THAT ARE PART OF UNESCO LIST OF WORLD HERITAGE SITES. LET US TAKE YOU THERE IN A UNIQUE AND EXCLUSIVE WAY.

Croatia has over 1200 islands and islets – with altogether over 3600 miles (5800 km) of coastline on the clear blue Mediterranean Sea. The island of Hvar is the place with the most hours of sunshine in Europe – more than 2800 hours a year! You can cruise around the islands or just relax on one of countless Croatian beaches. Do we even need to tell you anything else?

There are 8 cultural and 2 natural sites that are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and 63 restaurants that found their way into the Michelin guide. Plenty of luxurious hotels where you can completely relax but remember to also put some of the more unique accommodation on your itinerary. You will have fun, guaranteed.

14 J

Enjoy Croatia with EKORNA Experience in a different way: ask for a special and unique accommodation and we will arrange sleeping in a romantic lighthouse, on a luxurious boat, or in an ancient villa with the best view. There is also an abundance of the best hotels, boutique hotels and over the top accommodation experiences.

Cruising the Croatian coast will definitely boost your appetite, and Croatian gastronomy is all about fresh, local and quality food. There are enough Michelin star or Michelin recommended restaurants on every corner to satisfy your hunger for something unique and delicious. But for a truly special experience we can arrange a personalized truffle hunting expedition with an exquisite degustation in the end, or the freshest oyster aphrodisiac treat.

In Croatia you can easily just lie on the fairy-tale beaches or by the pools during your whole trip. But there are plenty of luxurious activities you can try in its unspoiled nature. Glide over the crystal clear waters when sea kayaking or sailing and see Dubrovnik from a completely new perspective. Explore the magical Mediterranean underwater world, its biodiversity and sunken ships while diving. Or go inland biking around, looking for truffles and picking the olives in Istria or get a private trip to Plitvice lakes.

A trip to Croatia also takes you back through time. You will discover centuries-old traditions and the remnants of the civilizations that have passed through. Experience a concert in the third largest still preserved Roman amphitheatre.

Did you know that the Walls of Ston are the longest preserved fortification system in the world after the Great Wall of China?

There is no shortage of unique cultural experiences in Croatia either. Croatia has a very long list of UNESCO protected sites. We can help you see them in a different view – privately, while dinning, through the eyes of the locals. For a trip to ex-Yugoslavia, try the unique Katrca ride (special Yugoslavian old-timer cars) or follow the steps of the former leader Tito. The Roman amphitheatre is the only one with all 3 rows preserved – just imagine the experience of a concert inside.

The beauty of Croatia is well known also through Hollywood movies. Oscar-winning Fiddler on the Roof, Sophie’s Choice, Dr. Who and Star Wars were filmed in Croatia. The island of Vis imitated Greece in the film Mamma Mia 2, while in the early 19th century, thanks to the English poet Lord Byron, Dubrovnik was known as the “Adriatic Pearl” and not only as King’s Landing from Game of Thrones. Do you like any of those? With us you can even get a themed itinerary.

Lastly, Croatia wouldn’t be Croatia without its famous cruises. But there are cruises of many types. You have the typical ones and you have the special gulets, yachts and deluxe cruises that take you to the virgin beaches and deserted islands.

Croatian seaside is amazing, but it doesn’t have to be all about lying on the beach and soaking up the sun. You can make it pretty active, wild and different. You can try, learn and experience every water sport on your list and feel as luxurious as ever.

Start of slowly in the Croatian capital of Zagreb. You will wander the streets exploring the rich history, enjoy the many cafes like locals and shop until you drop.

On your way to the coast there is a necessary stop at the Plitvice Lakes National Park – the main Croatian natural attraction protected by UNESCO since 1979. The attraction here are hundreds of waterfalls that link together lakes and streams. You will do this leisurely tour on foot and on a private boat to really take in all it has to offer.

Run away to one of the exotic and deserted Croatian islands and disconnect completely.

It is finally time to stop in one of the luxurious hotels, villas or lighthouses along the coast and really enjoy yourself. We recommend the islands of Hvar or Korčula, but you have thousands more to choose from and we can help you with that. Here you can enjoy the diving course, go fishing, learn to sail, wind surf or just get a package of a little bit of everything…
