CHELSEY GONZALEZ Author, “;” and “Panic Attack” | Pages 20 & 27
ANNE S. HALL Photographer, “Shades in Photos” | Page 12 As a Coast Guard Veteran, I took on a late start finding myself in a career within the arts as I returned home to Southern California. A Fallbrook High School graduate, I used to focus entirely on the sciences before I was faced with choosing a different path in life. Becoming an arts major was the hardest and most fulfilling experience I have ever encountered in my late blooming young adult life. With a certification in digital photography, associates degree in studio art, and a bachelor's degree in arts and technology with a minor in film studies and dance, I have been working as a full time photographer and photojournalist since 2013. Serving various nonprofits like Our Nicholasville Foundation of Temecula, Ca; Go2Grow of Escondido, Ca.; the San Diego Autism Society and the San Diego Epilepsy Foundation. Writing and submitting photography work for the San Marcos Cougar Chronicle, Oceanside's online newspaper OsideNews.com, and Escondido's Times-advocate and Valley Center Roadrunner. My photography focuses on portraiture and creative direction. Under Syrenia Imagery, I
provide services for event photography, sports, advertising, product photography, portraits, etc. Visit the website at syreniaimagery.com for options and price listings. Online portfolio can be found at www.behance.net/syreniaimagery. I hope to further my career within the arts helping others with their writing talents and developing our skills together; as well as potentially helping those in need with arts therapy programs.

RHIANNON RIPLEY Creator, “Anxious Ally,” “Images 01-04,” & “Future” | Pages 23, 29, 30, 31, 32, 38 Rhiannon Ripley is a student advocate who works to improve the lives of others around her. She is passionate about the intersectionality of economics, politics, and society. Currently an Economics student, she plans on moving towards Public Policy Administration so she may be able to shift the economic system away from a capitalist society that benefits from income inequalities, gentrification, and not having a living wage. But until then, she serves California State San Marcos students as a member of the Board of Directors in Associated Students, Inc. She has experienced depression throughout her life and finds it difficult to verbalize what she goes through. And as she is advancing in her leadership
role, she is recognizing just how male dominated the world is. Photography, art, and written word are meditative practices she has found helps her anxieties and express her frustrations. Many of her pieces are reflective of her therapy sessions, her experience as a woman, and mantras that keep her going when the world gets hard.
