SOAP DESIGNED BY SEBASTIAN HERKNER
Sebastian Herkner designed the new tiles collection „SOAP“ exclusively for Kaufmann Ceramics. The starting point for this was „das Haus“ at the IMM COLOGNE, in 2016, at that time still made of real soap material. After the big public interest, Herkner developed the ceramic tile SOAP together with us.

Precision from the draft to the self-developed raw mixture, the mold making and the dimensionally accurate grinding process. In this way, tile for tile, only at Kaufmann Keramik.

While being on vacation, Sebastian Herkner bought a tool on the market in Marakesch, actually for another purpose. Now we use it to impress a pattern in the damp clay mass.The approach was a simple and geometric collection of tiles for modern interiors with a certain note of i n d i v i d u a l i t y. P r a c t i c a l l y a l l c o l o r s a n d sizes are possible. Each tile is unique.

RAUTEBLAU DESIGNED BY STUDIO ABERJA
The way the decor of a cider wine glass has become the „Franfurt Tile“ and hence the tile name RAUTEBLAU. Studio ABERJA has created a really extraordinary ambience with the „Bonechina“ Bar: on the menu, a fine s e l e c t i o n o f c o c k t a i l s , i f n e c e s s a r y, t h e t o n i c w a t e r c a n be taped from the large origami ceramic elephant, which dominates the center of the room. The walls are covered by diamond-shaped, blue-anthracite-colored tiles, which reflect the light of the small ceiling spotlights. They are custom made by Kaufmann Ceramics and should be referred to the pattern of typical apple wine glasses in this region, says a r c h i t e c t R o b i n H e a t h e r, S t u d i o A B E R J A . C o n s e q u e n t l y, this masterpiece was named „Frankfurt tile“. It consists of inclined, symmetrical and asymmetrical surfaces and its function as a wall covering should remind of the skin of an elephant.

As a market-leading manufacturer of high-quality tiles, Kaufmann Keramik realised five tiled stoves with top-quality burner technology from the brand Brunner. Impressive spatial sculptures were created, which became functional exhibits to the art inventory of the Berlin „Direktorenhaus“. The tiled stove shown here was designed by Kai Linke.
