Bipolar disorder is a mental condition that can evoke fear, shame, sorrow, and denial among both patients and their families. Through poetry and illustration, Disorder Dialogues explores the complex, lived experiences of people with bipolar disorder. These are narratives inspired by numerous personal accounts and stories, retold with the hope that they will generate empathy and awareness, create thoughtful conversations around bipolar disorder and dispel the clouds of ignorance and shame that surround it. It also hopes to instil confidence and acceptance in those who are diagnosed with the disorder as well as their caregivers.
