MSC GAD Focal Point System MSC Gender Advancement and Development
Background:
State Universities and Colleges are covered by the Policy of creation, strengthening and institutionalizing of the gender and Development Focal Point System. Based on the Magna Carta on Women (RA 9710), the purpose of which setting up this mechanism is to clarify the roles of the GAD Focal Point System and provide the composition and structure.
Objectives:
Moreover, the policy should provide for the adoption of the gender mainstreaming strategy to promote and protect women’s human rights. Therefore it is stipulated that it is necessary to establish and strengthen the GAD Focal Point System to accelerate gender mainstreaming.

Time frame:January to March 2013 Research and Extension Coordinators Implement the proposed projects on gender concerns ď ˝ Para-Counselors Monitor and evaluate the GAD related activities ď ˝
Time frame:July to September 2013 Research and Extension Coordinators Monitor and present the research output on venues within the school Para-Counselors Organize symposia, fora and seminars on gender mainstreaming Student Leaders Participate and initiate activities on gender concerns
Time frame:October to December 2013 Research and Extension Coordinators Produce terminal reports and prepare a consolidated accomplishment report ď ˝ Para-Counselors Monitor and evaluate the GAD related activities ď ˝
