Gender and Development Best Practices I. Best practice may be defined in terms of the following: A. The objectives of the PPA is attainedIn the case of seminars, a pre teat and a post test are given; and result of the post test is significantly good, e.g., higher score
In a focus group discussion, the issue(s) or concern(s) of women is/are made to surface in the discussions; Question(s) or doubt(s) is/are logically clarified; The FGD serves as a counterchecking method of women’s responses to a survey or questionnaire.
B. Gender sensitivity or awareness is manifested by participants/folk in subsequent activities; C. In case of skills training, work results to efficient utilization of time and resources, as well as improved quality of finish product. D. Best practice results to institutionalization of gender in agency PPAs.
