Hello! My name is Kaye Ellen, and the purpose of this book is to explore the typeface Futuracha. I chose this font because of how unique it is and because of the interactivity of the letters. hope you enjoy this intriguing font as much as I do.
Dear Futuracha, When I first saw you, I didn’t think any font could be so beautifully unique. You’re so interactive and amazing. Your shapes remind me of my favorite artwork. You are so versatile, able to create patterns, shapes, and words. When you come together to form words, the result is astounding. Love, Kaye Ellen
Odysseas GP created Futuracha in his third year of graphic design school at Akto College in Greece. On Behance, regarding Futuracha, Odysseas writes: “Futuracha is a display font designed during my third year in graphic design school, in typography course with professor K. Giotas. The name is the combination of words futura and cucaracha (cockroach in spanish). The design is based on the basis of pf futura book which has for me a ideal weight. The letters’ edges radically extend in a forceful way trying to remind the art deco’sstyle. The serif are based on Claude Garamond typefaces. It was designed as a display font so it’s not recommended for extended texts. It’s suitable for headlines and logos. I strongly recommend users to experiment with the font. The results of the experiments may be proven fascinating. Futuracha includes both greek and latin characters as well as numbers and symbols.”
