Career Fairs The 2014 College of Architecture Career & Internship Fair hosted 21 companies, which was a 16% decrease from the previous year. The Construction Science Division hosted 2 career fairs that attracted 24 companies; this was a 4% increase over last year. 100 of the 102 students that attended the career fair were College of Architecture students. Below you will see a breakdown by major. Six companies conducted 37 interviews after the Architecture career fair. 111 interviews were conducted by 18 companies after the Construction Science career fairs.

On-Campus Interviews Interviews by Major Many students participate in more than one on-campus interview. The total interview calculation reflects all on-campus interviews, which is why it is different than the total number of College of Architecure students registered with Career Services. There were 24 companies that recruited College of Architecture students by conducting on-campus interviews (those companies are listed below). In addition to the on-campus interviews, there were 6,140 positions (both full-time and internships) posted on the HIREsooner job board by 1,952 companies. Major

First Destination Data Each year Career Services collects 1st destination data for all College of Architecture undergraduate students. Data is collected utilizing several methods including, but not limited to, in-class surveys, email campaigns, individual department exit interviews/surveys and digital research. Data collection starts at the beginning of each academic year and concludes 6 months after May graduation. It is important to note this data is self-reported by the students.

Full-Time Offers Full-time Offers Full-time employment information was obtained from graduates in a variety of manners, including surveys and email campaigns. Not all graduates reported salary information. 32 differnt companies made offers to College of Architecture students. The average full-time salary for a College of Architecture student was just over $49,000 compared to the national average of $43,900 (NACE Salary Survey, September 2014).

Internship Statistics OU Career Services offers students the opportunity to gain academic credit for their internships or co-ops through the class CAS 4630. In this class, students may acquire 1-6 hours of credit depending on the number of hours they work during their internship. Each student who participates in the class works very closely with an Assistant Director in the Career Services office and is required to complete journals, hour logs, and an evaluation. Each student also writes a report about their internship experience and what they have learned. The numbers below indicate the enrollment of students in this class.

Career Planning Class CAS 4091 Career Planning Class Career Services teaches four sections of CAS 4091 - Career Planning for A&S Majors each year. The class gives students an overview of the job search process, including self-assessment of individual qualifications, interests and goals, resume development, letter writing, and the interviewing process. Also, the course allows students to explore career opportunities beyond graduation, develop a strategy for the job search process, and improve job search techniques. Students highly benefit from CAS 4091 and enrollment for the class continues strong. The course is a one-credit hour class that meets 3 times per week for a total of 6 weeks. Additionally, two sections of the course are offered in both the fall and spring semesters. Below is a chart outlining course enrollment sInce the 2007-08 academic year. The numbers represent the total enrollment for all sections of the class combined for each academic year.

Career Fairs The College of Engineering Career Fair is one of the largest Career Fairs on campus. The 2013 Engineering Career Fair hosted 147 companies which was almost an 11% increase over the previous year. 466 of the 1,489 students that attended the fair were from the College of Earth & Energy. Below you will see a breakdown by major. There were 752 interviews conducted the day after the fair which is a 27% increase over the previous year. Those interviews were conducted by 91 companies a 20% increase over the previous year.

Internship Statistics OU Career Services offers students the opportunity to gain academic credit for their internships or co-ops through the class CAS 4630. In this class, students may acquire 1-6 hours of credit depending on the number of hours they work during their internship. Each student who participates in the class works very closely with the Career Services Internship Coordinator, Mary Delaney and is required to complete weekly materials including journals. Each student also writes a final report about their internship experience and what they have learned. Conducted a final destinal survey in 4 senior capstone classes/95 students at the end of each semester. Provided eight specific workshops to Gaylord College on resume writing, internships, networking and interviewing advice. Worked with Gaylord College faculty and staff to recruit 27 employers to attend the 2013 JMC Career & Internship Fair.
