Theexhibit,Dish,uses drawingandcommunity engagementtoexplorehow localfoodwayscandefinea community’sidentityand reflectcontemporarychallengesthatcommunityis facing,likefoodinsecurity andclimatechange.
Theartist,LauraTanner, gathersoralhistoriesfrom farmers,chefs,restaurant
patronsandhomecooks. Usingtheirstoriesasinspiration,herdrawingspresentavisualarchiveofthe rituals,recipes,andtraditionsofdifferentcommunities.Tanner’sprojectbegan intheSoutheast,andcontinuesinanewiteration alongtheEastCoast.Byexaminingacommunity’s foodways,wecanbetterunderstandagroupofpeople, andinturn,theircurrent economies,socialstructures,politicalleanings,and needsasacommunity.
“Thisprojectemploysinterdisciplinaryformsofstorytelling–visual(drawing),

Medicare Options are Complicated. Understanding them shouldn’t be.
Turning 65 is a big milestone in a person’s life. For most, it’s also the time to apply for Medicare. Most commonly now you apply for Medicare Part A and/or Part B on the Social Security website.
I’m told by my clients who are new to Medicare that they feel fortunate to have me “hold their hand” and help them through the process. I will hold your hand too if you want my assistance as you face this dilemma of decisions.
Much of my consultation time is going through the appropriate steps of someone just getting their Medicare active. But this seems to be the most daunting step for most that I meet with. You can enroll in Medicare online by going to SSA.gov. Medicare alone is not enough, and that's where I come in to help you understand your Medicare options. Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare Supplement (Medi-gap) plans and Medicare Drug plans are complex and the fact that you can have my knowledge (at no cost to you) to help you decide the right choice for you at this milestone in your life will give you peace of mind.

And why I do what I do…
Dear Friend,
I never thought my life would turn out this way. I was kicked in the head, at point blank range, by a teenage boy in my mandatory high school gym class. I suffered a concussion that stole my memories, my ability to think clearly and left me with physical symptoms like vertigo, headaches and light sensitivity.
But before I go any further, let me start by telling you about the man in this photo. John grew up in a home full of mental health challenges, which created more mental health challenges and a constant state of anxiousness for him. He joined the Boy Scouts as an escape, and be-came an Eagle Scout at age 15, which is quite remarkable. After a career in the Air Force, John was living a healthy life, with lots of exer-cise and good nutrition, but he still suffered from anxiety and GERD. A friend told him to go to a chiropractor, and with nothing to lose, he gave it a try. He got an “adjustment.” It didn’t hurt, it actually felt good. That’s when his life changed. The cloud of anxiety he had known since childhood lifted, and his acid reflux disappeared. It sounds like a small thing, but it was a miracle for John and he de-cided to become a chiropractor himself.
So what about me? Unlike Dr. John, I grew up getting adjusted regularly, but didn’t appreciate it. It was just something we did. As a kid I assumed everyone took care of their spine. My mom was a chiropractor and getting adjusted was like eating your vegetables! I was checked at birth for misalignments, and rarely went to the regular doctor, until that concussion. The funny thing about a concussion is that there aren’t drugs or surgeries to fix your brain. You have to support your body’s natural healing process, and that’s when I began to appreciate the power of chiropractic adjustments. I saw the path others struggling with Post Concussion Syndrome went down, but mine was dif-ferent because of my chiropractic lifestyle. Fast forward a decade, now I’m a chiropractor too.
It’s strange how things turn out. Now I adjust my mother! Dr. John and I met at college. We fell in love with chiropractic, and each other. We’ve opened a new Crossroads Chiropractic location in Beford to elevate the health of our community through corrective chiropractic care and to share our passion for intentional living.
Our patients have come to us with their headaches, ear infections, neck pain, low back pain, migraines, chronic pain, shoulder/arm pain, whiplash from car accidents, allergies, ADHD,
