Astemperaturescontinuetosoar acrossthenation,denselypopulatedcitiesawayfromtheseacoast, likeConcord,aremorepronetofeel theeffectsofthesummerheat withoutabreezetobreakupthehumidityandthicknessinthearea.
Butmanyoftherecommended swimmingareasinthecountydon’t havelifeguardsonduty,besidesat theConcordcityswimmingpools, anddrowningsintheMerrimack Riverhaveincreasedoverthelast severalyearsascitygoersplunge intoacurrentinvisibletothesurface.
Whenswimminginariver,alake oranybodyofwaterthatiseither unfamiliaroranundercurrentcould bepresent,trytoswimwith friends.Ifnotastrongswimmer, havealifejacketwithyou–itwill saveyourlife.
