Methods to Embed PowerPoint in Weebly

Methods to Embed PowerPoint in Weebly It used to be easier to embed a PowerPoint presentation into Weebly because Scribd, which Weebly uses for document embedding, accepts PPT file types for upload. Scribd now experiences difficulty making the conversion in Weebly. Therefore, you will need to use a different method to embed PPT files in Weebly. Here are the two simplest and most common ways:

Method I: Convert the PowerPoint to PDF This is the simplest solution. It also makes sense because Scribd converts all documents to PDF anyway. 1. Choose File > Save As 2. Choose the location to save your file 3. Save as Type a. In the drop-down menu, choose PDF (see screenshot)

b. Save the file as a PDF in that location. 4. Go to your Weebly page in edit mode where you want the file embedded. 5. Drag the Scribd Document element where you want the file on your page. 6. Click inside the element on the page. 7. Upload your PDF file from the location on your computer. 8. Let the Scribd element process your document. 9. Click Publish and click the link to your site that pops up to make sure it looks satisfactory. Go back and edit if necessary. 10. Be sure to attach the original PowerPoint file below the embed by using the File element so that site visitors can download and experience the full presentation.

Methods to Embed PowerPoint in Weebly Method II: Convert the PowerPoint to a Series of JPEGs This method shows how to save slides as individual JPEG images, which is a useful technique for multiple purposes. Depending on the options you set in Weebly, this method can allow site visitors to quickly find a particular slide in your show instead of having to scroll through the entire embedded PDF. It also allows site visitors to download and save individual slides. So, you have to decide if that is something you want them to be able to perform. If it isn’t, you might prefer Method I. 1. Choose File > Save As 2. Choose the location to save your file 3. Save as Type a. In the drop-down menu, choose JPEG. b. If you have not yet compressed pictures in your PowerPoint, it is a good idea to do so now. Click on Tools next to the Save button and choose Compress Pictures.

c. Select compression options and resolution and click OK.

d. Save the file as JPEGs in that location by choosing to save All Slides.
