Highlights Unconquered Seminoles

Follow the history and identity of Florida's resilient Seminole tribe, one deeply rooted in a pattern of obstacle and challenge, survival and success. Three wars in the 1800s sought to remove the Seminoles from Florida, but they adapted to life in the Everglades and eventually thrived while still perserving their cultural traditions. The significant moments in the history of the Seminoles are charted through archival stills and interviews with historians. Tuesday, November 1 at 10:30 pm

Angle of Attack This 2-part program chronicles the 100-year history of Naval aviation - from wobbly gliders and the first shipboard landing in 1911 to modern supersonic jets and unmanned aerial vehicles. In part 1, young men and women are on their way to "earning their wings." In a rigorous course of instruction, they learn to lift off and land a supersonic aircraft on the deck of an aircraft carrier in the middle of the ocean. Part 2 revolves around the potential demise of naval aviation as many in the military establishment promote nuclear weapons and pronounce carrier aviation dead. Marching Once More: 60 Years After the Battle of the Bulge

a

Follow the emotional journey of veterans of the Battle of the Bulge who return to Belgium and Luxembourg for the 60th anniversary of that infamous fight. The memories were overwhelming—some had never really gotten over the horrors of that brutally cold winter when Hitler launched a massive surprise attack against thin and often inexperienced American frontline. Could the veterans, now in their 80's and 90's—withstand such difficult and emotional journey? Thursday, November 13 at 8:00 pm
