Everyone deals with stress in her own way. When I am stressed, I head to the kitchen. Whether it is cooking, baking, or eating, food is my go-to stress relief. Being in my final semester of college, it seemed fitting to incorporate this into my senior art project. Through the use of photography and graphic design, I am able to bring some of my favorite recipes to life.

Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and espresso. 8. Form dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheet. Add chocolate chips and apricot bits, mix well and set aside. 9. 2-1/4 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp instant coffee or espresso powder
10 oz chocolate chips, white
1 c butter, 1 c apricots, finely diced room temperature 1 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1. Preheat oven to 350째F and cover a baking sheet in foil. 2. Place bacon in a single layer, sprinkle with brown sugar and bake for 18-25 minutes (or until crispy). 3. Remove bacon from sheet, allow to cool, and chop finely. 4. Reduce heat to 325째F. 5. Cream butter and sugar. 6. Add vanilla, egg and yolk, and beat until light and creamy. 7. Sift in flour and baking soda.
8. Add bacon and chocolate chips and mix until just combined. 9. Drop dough by the tablespoon onto sheets and bake for 1315 min. 10. Let cool on pan before transferring to cooling rack.

Candied Bacon
8 slices bacon, thick center cut
1/2 c brown sugar
Cookies
1c 3/4 c butter, 1/2 tsp 2-1/4 c 1 egg + 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour baking soda melted & cooled 1/2 c sugar brown sugar vanilla extract 1 egg yolk

Combine oil and chocolate chips in small saucepan. Stir and melt chocolate on low heat until completely melted. Once melted, remove from heat. Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add melted chocolate and maple flavoring. Stir until ingredients are completely incorporated. Cover and chill for at least 20 minutes. Once chilled, shape into small balls and roll in crushed nuts.

1-1/2 c chocolate chips, semi-sweet
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1-1/2 c powdered sugar
1 tsp maple extract
1c crushed walnuts or almonds
1/2 c vegetable oil

Hawaiian Carrot Cake 1. Preheat oven to 350째F grease two 9-in . round cake pans. 2. Place chopped pineapple into a sieve and press with spoon to remove as much juice as possible. Grate carrots and set aside. 3. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until blended and set aside. 4. Beat butter until creamy. Gradually beat in sugar for about 5
min. Beat in eggs, then vanilla. 5. Beating on low, add 1/3 of flour mixture. Then add 1/2 of milk. 6. Repeat additions, ending with flour. Gradually mix in pineapple and carrots. 7. Divide between pans and smooth. Bake for 40-45 min. Cool for 15 min. before removing from pans to cool completely.
Hawaiian Carrot Cake
1 c pineapple, chopped
4 c carrots, grated
1 Tbsp 2-1/2 c all-purpose flour baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1 cup unsalted 1-1/4 c butter, room temp. brown sugar
4 eggs, room temp.

Coconut Cream Cheese Icing Place butter in a bowl and beat until creamy. Beat in vanilla and sour cream or yogurt. On low speed, beat in cream cheese, piece by piece. Add about 1/3 of powdered sugar until just mixed. Gradually add remaining sugar, beat until just smooth. Remove about a 1/4 to be used on top of cake. Stir coconut into remaining icing.

1/4 c sugar 1 egg
8 oz Greek yogurt 1-1/2 tsp cream cheese, lemon juice softened
1/2 c powdered sugar, 2 Tbsp butter, 1/4 c sugar cold cubed all-purpose flour for dusting 3/4 c sugar

1 Tbsp zest of one lemon lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350째F and grease baking sheets. Combine flour, salt, baking powder and soda, set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Whip in vanilla, eggs, lemon zest and juice. Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Pour powdered sugar onto a large plate. Roll heaping teaspoons of dough into a ball and roll in powdered sugar.
8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until bottoms begin to brown and cookies look matte (not shiny or melty). 9. Let cookies cool on baking sheets for 3 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

1/2 c butter, softened
1 c sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 whole egg
1 tsp lemon zest
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
1-1/2 c all-purpose flour
1/2 c powdered sugar

Grease a 9x9 inch square pan. Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and vanilla. Mix in the oats. Cook over low heat 2-3 minutes, until well blended. Press half of mixture into bottom of prepared pan. Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter in saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth. 7. Pour chocolate mixture over crust in pan and spread.
8. Crumble remaining oat mixture over the chocolate layer, pressing gently. 9. Cover and chill for 2-3 hours or overnight. 10. Bring to room temperature before cutting into bars.

1 c semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 c peanut butter
