One night, Granny came to mind Benny at his house, She was quite a quiet granny, timid like a mouse. Then Mum and Dad remembered, Benny needed a bath. “Leave it with me, dear,” said Granny and waved them down the path.
7
When Mum and Dad had gone, Granny closed the door,
She took out her glasses, but they fell to the floor.
8
She picked up her glasses
and placed them on her head,
Granny read Benny a story as it was time for bed.
Once upon a fish
9
Then Granny remembered, Benny had to have a bath. She chuckled to herself, had a giggle and a laugh.
10
“Silly old me!” Granny chortled, “I’ll let the water run.”
She turned on the taps,
“I’ll add bubbles for11 some fun!” fun!
Benny didn’t want a bath, so he made a wish, 12
“Instead of a bath of bubbles,” He shouted, “Let it be a fish!” 13
As if by
magic, in the bath,
appeared a fish, A tiny white minnow with a squint and a squish. The tiny minnow drank the water when Granny ran the tap. It slurped until its fins grew bigger, and they started to flap. 14
15
The fish got larger. more than doubled in size. It had a wide, grinned mouth and big round eyes.
Benny crept into the bathroom and looked inside. The fish was massive, its mouth open wide! 18
19
The fish now had
fangs sharp
white! and
20
21
Benny jumped back. It gave him a
fright! 22
23
Granny put on her glasses,
“Benny, Benny, there’s a shark in the bath!
Granny replied with a scream not a laugh!
24
Benny grabbed a bucket, a plunger, a mop and a sponge.
25
26
Pulled out the plug
and then with one big lunge... lunge.. 27
Benny plunged and sponged the shark, then mopped it away.
28
The shark tried its best, but Benny saved the day! 29
Granny looked at Benny as she fixed the bathmat, 30
31
“Next time you make a wish! Choose a dog or a cat!” cat!”
