The race is named for Bourbon County, home to some of North America’s most productive Thoroughbred farms. The county is located north of Lexington and Paris is the county seat. Castle & Key Distillery, one of Central Kentucky’s most popular distillery destinations, began to sponsor the Bourbon in 2021.
