Good afternoon, I’m Clarissa Dunn and it’s my pleasure to welcome you to Tironui Farm for the marriage of Chloe and Kris. When Kris proposed to Chloe in a Melbourne hotel room, she cried, and then he cried. They’d been talking about marriage for quite a while, but the moment Kris got down on one knee still took Chloe’s breath away. This beautiful woman with her bewitching blue eyes took Kris’s breath away when one night on a Wellington dance floor she kissed him for the very first time. Chloe melts Kris’s heart with her caring nature, which extends to everyone around her and every animal too. Despite being allergic to cats, Chloe loves giving their little Ludo cuddles. Kris is constantly learning new things from Chloe, her passion for her hobbies is infectious, and her intelligence is impressive. Kris feels that Chloe inspires him to be a better person. Chloe fell in love with this handsome man whose quick wit has her in stitches every day. Kris is good at finding the funny side of life and helping her relax. Chloe also admires Kris’s creativity and his unrelenting ability to problem-solve. These two lovely people share a similar outlook to life, and similar values. They love ‘Pottering’ about at home together (pun intended) enjoying Netflix or some of Chloe’s delectable baking. They enjoy food and cooking together is a real pleasure. And Kris has proven himself to be agreat sous chef. Although they have many things in common, Chloe and Kris have just as many differences. One of the strongest things about their relationship is their desire to learn about each other’s interests and points of view, broadening their horizons and embracing new things to do together in the process.

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, It is not excitement, It is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being “in love” which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, And this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love, have roots that grow towards each other underground, And when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches, They find that they are one tree and not two.
Chloe’s Vows Kri, today marks eight years that we have been together and what a rollercoaster it has been! I don’t think that I’d have ever imagined, as a 19 year old meeting you at a house party when I was flatting for the first time, that eight years later we would be standing here in front of our family and friends getting married. Even though we were so young when we met, I knew there must’ve been something special between us when you called me your spouse on our 6-month anniversary date. I did promise I’d never let you forget it! Kri, there are so many reasons I love you: you make me laugh nearly every day, you’re kind, you’re passionate about what you do, you put up with me and my crazy ideas, you’re so loyal and of course, you are also a massive Harry Potter fan! But, I think the biggest reason I love you is that you have always put me first. Sometimes the world works in funny ways and your boyfriend at 19 becomes your husband at 27. I promise to spend the rest of my life learning and laughing with you, to continue to let you kill all the spiders, to try and love cats as much as you do; but most importantly I promise to always put you first in my life. As our favourite quote goes: Dumbledore watched her fly away, and as her silvery glow faded he turned back to Snape, and his eyes were full of tears. “After all this time?” “Always,” said Snape. I, Chloe Grace Kincaid, take you, Kristopher Reagan Sutherland, to be my husband.
Kristopher’s Vows Chloe, as you know, one of my many character flaws is my memory, often forgetting things I was just told a few minutes ago. But for all the things I’ve forgotten, here are some moments I’ll always remember. Your smile when I get you flowers, just cause I thought you’d like them. The vision of you singing and dancing to Taylor Swift while you’re baking The pure joy on your face when you beat me at Mario Kart And the look in your eye when you told me you love me, and I said “I love you” back And ever since that moment, we’ve been going on this journey together, and showing each other how much we care for each other. We’ve seen one another at our highest highs, and lowest lows, and who knows what the future holds, but rest assured I’ll be there right by your side. I, Kristopher Reagan Sutherland, take you, Chloe Grace Kincaid, to be my wife. And I promise to continue showing you how much you mean to me. I’ll support you in achieving all your hopes and dreams, like when you open your bakery and become wildly successful! I’ll be the one to kill any spiders that you find while you scream, run and hide in another room. I’ll comfort you when you’re sad, and celebrate with you when you’re happy. I’ll make you feel as beautiful as I see you. And every night, before you go to sleep, I’ll say for what might be the thousandth time, but will still be just as true as the first night we said it, “I love you”.
