Conor’s vows Edward, In the last eighteen months we bought a house, got a dog, got engaged, planned a wedding, you star ted a new job, we sold a house, bought a house, moved city, and sold a house. All during multiple lockdowns and a pandemic that continues to laugh at our plans. You think this would test our relationship and push us to our limits, but honestly, it was all so easy with you, I always felt I was where I was meant to be. You make me laugh ever y single day, even when I don’t want to. You believe in me and I feel so lucky to have you as my other half. Now we’ve got this moment, to really publicly share our love for each other, I wanted to let you know that as your wife, I promise to grow alongside you, to strive to be the best version of myself for you, for me, and for us. I know you will continue to challenge me to step out of my comfor t zone, as long as it keeps us both out of the A&E zone I’m okay with that. You make me feel safe and loved, no matter what we are facing together, and I hope to do the same for you for the rest of our lives.

Edward’s vows

Conor, today you become my wife and I become your husband. From today, we do not miraculously become different people nor does our life together spontaneously change or star t. Instead, our life together will continue as it has done since we met. I will continue to respect you, listen to your thoughts and understand your feelings. I vow to continue to bring happiness, laughter and adventure to our marriage. You inspire me ever y day to look through a different set of eyes to be a better version of myself and I promise to inspire you to do the same. I couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful, empathetic and routine based person to compliment my quirks and spontaneous tendencies. I love you and will always love you.

Edward’s speech Conor, you are the skis beneath my feet. Without my skis, I just have boots, and you of all people know what it’s like to walk in ski boots. It’s slow, it hur ts, and we only continue to move forward because we eventually get to put our skis on. Well, I’ve done my fair share of walking around in my boots and now that I’ve found my skis I look forward to the excitement, joy and adventure that comes from skiing this mountain we call life together. I love you, I will always love you, and just to clarify, you mean far more to me than a set of skis.
