We share such a special, unconditional, self-sacrificing love, and knowing that I will have you by my side for the rest of my life makes me the happiest man on ear th. Ever y morning I thank God for bringing you into my life at such a young age, because you have taught me so much. You are the soulmate I have been blessed with and I couldn’t have asked for more. Lara, if I was to describe you in three words they would be, selfless, loving and hard working, and ever yone who knows you will agree with me. I mean look at how amazing our wedding turned out! I still remember the day you sat me behind the steering wheel, and taught me how to drive for my full license exam. I remember when we used to sit at Takapuna librar y to ‘study’; little did you know we were on a date. I remember when we used to say “10 more years until we get married”... well, here we are, it’s our wedding day! You inspire me, and your presence in my life has turned me into the best version of myself. Over the many years you have given me patience, happiness and love. From the ver y beginning, I knew that you were different and were the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. In the words of Jalaluddin Rumi, “Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along”. This feels so relevant to the two of us, because loving you is so effor tless, and in finding you, I found myself. Over the past 12 years we have achieved so much. Together, we landed our first jobs, we graduated from high school and university, we celebrated bir thdays and many milestones. These are memories I will cherish for a lifetime. They say that “you know you are in love when you’d rather be awake than asleep, because reality is finally better than a dream”. For the last 12 years, you’ve made my reality a dream beyond my imagination, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you.
