Kim’s vows Ged, you are my best friend, my confidant, my lover and the most amazing dad to our 2 little boys. Ever yday you show me how much I am loved and together we have achieved amazing things. You believe in me even when I don’t believe in myself, and I can’t believe I am going to say it, but you are often right. Even when Im up, down, crazy after a night of no sleep from the kids… you always know what to say or do to help me get through. I love the way we talk for hours, the way we laugh, the way we will always have each others backs no matter what. I have never felt as safe and secure as I do since I have been with you. I promise to always be your person, I will always listen, always give you space when you need it, and always suppor t you in all of your incredible ideas and dreams. I am so excited to become your wife, and can’t wait for what the future holds for us. I love you xx

Ged’s vows

Kim’s Speech Thank you to ever yone for being here today. As most of you will know I have been wanting this day for a LONG time and it has been ever ything I imagined and more. Planning a wedding with 2 little people (and in 4 months) adds a lot more admin into the wedmin, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Knowing that Lachie and Harr y have been with us today is incredibly special. I wasn’t sure I would be speaking today, and when I mentioned to Ged that I was and should we ‘co-ordinate thank yous’ his first response was… you are a wife now, you don’t get to talk anymore!! Big words coming from the man who is wearing a ‘skir t’ oh sorr y I mean Kilt today. I wanted to take this oppor tunity to really make note of all the special people in our lives. To my family, thank you for being our ‘village’ and before the Stewar t boys were par t of my life ever ything you have done and continue to do for me. Was a huge transition for me moving down to Wanaka, but having family LITERALLY just around the corner is what it is all about. While I was living in London I never imagined that I would meet the man of my dreams. Our journey to love felt ver y easy…. Or should I say effor tless. Mum did always tell me that if something is effor tless then you know you are on the right track! Granted a lot of it was over pints, but when you can just easily sit for hours and hours just chatting you know that there is something right there. Ged will probably say that I just ‘turned up at his front door with a truck load of stuff to move in with him’ the truth is the moment he asked me if I liked the apar tment he was moving into was actually him asking me to move in! I wanted to be patient and officially wait for him to ask, but my lease was up… so I guess par t of his stor y is true. Before I got ‘kicked out of the UK’ Ged took me up to Scotland. Originally I was not a fan of Glasgow.. 4 of us, all who are here today, went on a girls trip to Climb Ben Nevis, and had a small amount of time to explore Glasgow. It turns out we turned the wrong way at pretty much ever y street which meant we completely missed the quirky little allies and music hubs that existed. Ged wanted to show me the ‘true’ Glasgow, and he was right; it really does have charm, histor y, and much better places to visit!! In this quick trip I got to meet a lot of his family. And although we were just meeting me for the first time, I knew that they were also going to be mine. Geds brother Mally has been calling me ‘sis’ pretty much since the beginning of our relationship, and I absolutely love that this is now official. Ged and I have made the journey back to Scotland a few times these past few years since we moved to NZ. During these trips I also got to meet, and spend time with Geds parents, and on one of the trips so did Lachie who was 9 months old. I will be forever grateful to Geds parents Malcolm, and Christine. Although I won’t get the chance to tell them this, they raised an absolutely incredible human. Ged tells me about the love his parents had for each other, no matter what was going on in their lives they were there for each other. Ged has inherited their ability to show love and I feel this ever yday from him, so thank you Malcolm & Christine. Please can we all take this moment and raise our glasses to geds parents who we will always remember ever y single day. Today sums up Ged. He would do absolutely anything for his family, and today he has done that for ours. Getting married without his family and friends here in person must have been ver y difficult, but I know he wouldn’t have had it any other way. Although they haven’t been able to be here in person, we have some messages from them. Please fill your glasses up while we set up the video. I love you Ged, and I can’t believe we are actually MARRIED!!!
