RUMAANAH’S SPEECH Salam and hello ever yone my name is Rumaanah Shakeel’s younger sister and today I have the honour of introducing my brother. Firstly I just want to say congratulations and you both look beautiful today. I thought I would star t by thanking you all for being here today on behalf of my parents and family. So a little bit about Shakeel, he graduated from AUT with com sci and is currently working for St John in logistics. Shakeel is a ver y humble and reser ved person, and he has found his exact other half. They even share the same bir thday and the same love for food!
The first time Shakeel told mum and dad about Ayesha, boy o boy they just couldn’t believe it. Mummy was like Shakeel has a GF, ofcourse as sisters we already knew and mum just couldn’t process the thought so she’s like one day with me and faaiza, humme toh biswaas nai pare shakeel ke pass girlfriend hai Hume toh raat bhar neend nai aise. And after today Ayesha you will be added to our family group chat so don’t judge the group chat name or the memes coming your way.
While we are here celebrating today, we want to remember in our hear ts and Duas for all of our family that couldn’t make it today because of travel restrictions and some impor tant family members that had passed away during this time who still ver y much remain in our hear ts. Finally I just want to say a massive thanks to the newly weds and my family, I’m sure this day has turned out way beyond what we had imagined pre covid. So all the hard work and planning has paid off guys. And again congrats to Shakeel Bhaiya and Ayesha Bhabi.
S H A K E E L’ S S P E E C H Assalamualaikum ever yone, just going to keep this shor t and simple, just really want to thank all of you for coming today. Also want to thank those who helped during any pre wedding functions. For us, planning this wedding hasn’t been the easiest with covid and other cer tain obstacles, but we’ve managed to get through those hurdles and glad to have you here for our big day. We would’ve loved to have those close to us from overseas, to join us but unfor tunately with restrictions it could not be possible, but I’m sure they would be sending lots of love and duas from wherever they may be.
I really want to thank my parents for being suppor tive throughout the whole process and to my family and Ayeshas siblings who helped and suppor ted when we needed it the most. And anyone else who has given us a helping hand. Big thank you to the venue and staff aswell for having us here today.
Lastly, I would like to thank my stunning wife, it’s still crazy I can call her that now, most of this wouldn’t be possible without you, from all the planning, deciding all the little and all the big things, you made it alot easier for me to do alot less. I still remember the day I first met you like it was yesterday. The past few years have been nothing but my favourite with you on my side. Seeing you smile and laugh today really makes me happy and makes me feel like I’m doing something right. I love you so much and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.
We both again would like to thank all of you for coming and hope you enjoy the food and the rest of the night. Thanks!
made with love by
keepsake.
